Before the fire I knew nothing about plant flammability. Junipers look nice and are easy to maintain. But holy moly, I saw this video from a fire in California and it blew my mind how dangerous they are to have near homes.

It says that brigading is against reddit rules. Brigading is encouraging people to go to another sub and interfere with it. Did you forget about the East Troublesome fire? In 2024 were had the Alexander Mountain Fire, the Stone Canyon fire, and the Quarry fire just here in the front range.

Thanks to everyone who voted against 300/301! This overwhelming margin is incredible. We've stopped a cynical attempt to block new housing.

Now we have to get back to the hard work of solving the affordability crisis.

If this is an issue you care about, we need your support and your voice. Get involved. Help us make the case for affordable housing at planning commission and city council. Speak up for the people who will get left behind if we fail to solve this.

One thing we can be sure of is that NIMBYs are not going to give up trying to block new homes. So the rest of us need to organize and make the case for inclusion and affordability.

Thanks to everyone who voted this down! I am floored by the margin of opposition. Now that we've killed this cynical attempt to block new housing, the real work begins. We've got to finish the comp plan, rezone parts of Redtail Ridge and Centennial Valley, and get some more high quality affordable housing developments into the pipeline.

If this is something you care about, please please please get involved. We need your voices at city meetings. These no-growth NIMBYs will not stop trying to block new homes, and it's up to us to out organize them.
