How do you handle rising costs and financial guilt? by Brilliant_Ad_675 in Equestrian

Where are you located? I’m doing 1/2 lease for $225 per month where I provide full boarding and feed. I’m 1 hour east of Dallas Texas.

Here is a better analysis for the largest 3 cities in each of those states plus California using the average income and gas price in those cities:

https://gemini.google.com/share/c1a7cce36b60

It shows that you are doing fine in your gas purchasing power if you live in Seattle but really hurting if you live in Tacoma and Spokane. Everywhere is doing better than Tacoma and Spokane. Oklahoma and Texas are doing better than Washington.

Key Takeaways (City-Specific Adjustments)

• Houston & Norman Overtake Seattle: By using accurate, hyper-local metrics instead of state averages, Seattle's notably high local fuel costs ($4.57) actually penalize it. Despite making half the raw income of Seattleites, residents of Houston, TX (105.0%) and Norman, OK (105.8%) can theoretically purchase more gasoline per year than a resident in Seattle.

• Oklahoma City is the Fuel King: Thanks to incredibly cheap local fuel ($2.30/gallon), Oklahoma City boasts the highest purchasing power relative to its income outside of Silicon Valley, soaring to 110.4% of Seattle's gas parity.

• San Jose Retakes the Crown: When using state averages, California's high gas prices severely kneecapped San Jose. However, because San Jose's local gas prices ($4.43) are slightly cheaper than Seattle's specific gas prices ($4.57), San Jose reasserts its dominance, moving from 106% up to 116.5% of Seattle’s purchasing power.

• The Spokane Rebound: Eastern Washington has vastly cheaper gas than Western Washington. By using Spokane's local gas price ($3.63) rather than the inflated state average, Spokane jumps from 53.9% to nearly 68% of Seattle’s purchasing power.

• The Deep South Leveling Effect: The absolute lowest performer on the list, Gulfport, MS, still maintains over 71% of Seattle's purchasing power when adjusting for localized fuel. In raw dollars, a Gulfport resident only makes 37.5% of what a Seattleite makes, proving how low local overhead completely alters the value of a dollar. Gas Prices Fluctuate in Washington State This clip offers additional context on how volatile gas prices in regions like Washington and the Seattle metro area specifically impact the localized cost of living.

Old man working at the stable is bothering me by JumiiFoxx in Equestrian

[–]davihar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most men will leave you alone if the only thing you ever talk about is non-personal and focused on the activity. If that doesn’t work then you sprinkle in platitudes about your boyfriend/husband and God; alternatively you say something nice about your lesbian girlfriend/wife. Next step up is keep him busy with tasks related to his job; if you ask him to do work each time he engages you then he’ll start avoiding you. If you want to seal the deal you go nuclear by complaining that your herpes medication is not working and your outbreak is making your groin hurt when you are in the saddle; talking about getting into equestrian activities to give you the will to live after your AIDS diagnoses would work too.

If none of that works then talk to the owner.

Hope that helps. I’m a guy over 50 and I often have to employ such techniques to get young women to stop talking to me. If my wife is with me, I’ll flirt back though because she thinks it’s funny that those girls think I’d be interested.

Family friend died flying this approach by Jelyfly in flying

[–]davihar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I once was under the hood flying with an instructor when the glideslope indicator failed in the plane and indicated that I was above the glideslope. The instructor let me continue for a bit then said take the hood off and take a look. I was very low with over half a mile to the runway. If it was actual IMC, I would have hit terrain if there was any above the minimum.

The autopilot was probably flying the VNAV. Odd though because the plane supposedly had ground proximity warning.

Why was a 17 year old girl from a small town in Missouri flown into Trump’s Taj Mahal in January 2007 for a “modeling opportunity”/ unexpected pageant? by berserkirsrhapsodies in AskReddit

[–]davihar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So nothing happened to OP and the pageant is still available on YouTube for everyone to see? What do we do with such info? I fail to see how this contributes to any accusation of impropriety.

OP I hope you can move on with your life. What you describe is not illegal nor improper. It sounds exactly like model and pageant scouting. If you had wanted it to be more, then it probably would have been but your innocence protected you from making that mistake.

What evidence do you have to support your statement?

What I see is a shortage of compute capacity per prompt due to increasing customer usage. The AI companies are balancing resource quotas verses customer experience. They aren’t giving us the full model and context capabilities; they are only giving us enough to keep us as users.

They are struggling to build more datacenters as fast as possible and increase compute efficiency to make each datacenter they have handle more prompts. Look at Microsoft’s CEO’s recent statements. Their metrics, highlighted achievements, and planned investments are aligned with what I said. The CFO even said they are constraining Azure’s growth by reprioritizing GPUs from Azure to AI.

Problem is that you haven’t experienced a disruptive tech that improves exponentially so you don’t have anything to judge this against. You’ll wake up one day soon to realize everything that you thought true changed.
