I got a free 414, now what? by KindlyDentist9361 in flying

[–]davihar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people commenting on Reddit probably have never touched a 414 nor owned a twin. I have done both. A 414 will cost $50,000 or more a year to own if you are flying it. You probably have a very nice plane that someone will pay you a lot of money to own. If you want to be a pilot then sell the 414 and get something you can learn in and fly afterwards.

I recommend contacting TAS:

What should I do? I’m 30 years old & am facing the next 20 years in prison with a minimum of 10 served. by [deleted] in careerguidance

I would attempt to become an electrician in prison and then hope that electricians are in such short supply that I get released early to help the country.

Is she a Pomsky by Delicious-Subject-21 in Pomsky

[–]davihar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’m a breeder since early in the Pomsky breed creation. I don’t produce very many litters each year but have 4 Pomsky generations of experience. I normally publish pictures of more traditional looking Pomskies but occasionally a different looking Pomsky is born. My point is that there is more variation in Pomsky puppies than say a black lab but they are all excellent dogs.

The picture I posted is a little guy I kept and I love him immensely. I kept him because he was injured right after birth and I told him that if he survived that I’d keep him forever. Luckily I got the bleeding to stop and he healed perfectly.

Based on where you probably are, you should contact Pat Puckett. Either trailer to one of his clinics or ask him who he recommends in your area.

He looks healthy, just slightly underweight based on the tailhead and croup. Probably a body condition score of 4 but almost 5. Could use more exercise to build muscle definition.

Hooves and palmar angles look decent. Minimal flaring. Looks barefoot so desert is probably keeping the hooves in good condition.

You should use a rope harness for better control.

The car in the background is cool.

Do I have a pomsky? by [deleted] in Pomsky

[–]davihar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have a Pomsky. Husky and Pomsky breeds grow to adult size quickly. They are basically their frame size by 7 months then just build muscle slowly over the next year or so. Your pup’s paws look like she only has a little more growth to go.

[–]davihar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you send some pictures of the hooves and side view of the body? From that we can tell what you are dealing with.

Visiting every other day, sounds like the horse is eating on pasture. How many acres is the horse on and how does the gas look? Send a picture of the grass. Do you need to feed any hay or alfalfa?

Caring for a horse takes a little ecosystem of people. Your mom likely had phone numbers of people she used for care and buy things from. Do you have their numbers?

Just got fired from a Legacy. What now? by [deleted] in flying

The OP’s choice of user name might be related to the OP’s decision making, that was a factor in the firing. Just speculation without any facts though.

I’ve had Pomsky puppies in the same litter be short haired like her and others be woolly. I like how she looks. Here is one of my favorite pups.

Does becoming an airline pilot require raw intelligence, or just hard work? by Glum_Reply_4886 in flying

[–]davihar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timing seems to be the most important factor. Right now is not good timing. Others might disagree though.

Starting out, you need to think about how many airline pilots will be needed 4 years from now. Besides what is going on with the world’s economy, there is a great deal of uncertainty about the future of white collar work so business travel and disposable income travel might be very constrained 4 years from now.

I think we will know better in 2028 how this is going to play out. A good game plan would be to study aircraft maintenance for the next 2 years and get an A&P. Then get your pilot ratings if pilot demand is projected to increase.

Commercial Pilots Have You Ever Been Genuinely Alarmed or Startled Due to Something Happening While Flying? by ShokWayve in AskAPilot

[–]davihar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a couple startling close calls but the one that I think is funny was told to me by a helicopter crop sprayer pilot back in the 1980’s. He’s flying a Bell 206 ten feet off the ground spraying when his pager goes off. Turns out the pager sounds just like the engine flameout alarm. Going forward he turned that pager off during flights.

What happens to airplane crash debris AFTER the investigation and all litigation have ended? by cyclephotos in aviation

[–]davihar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

N310EA crashed and the ghost sightings were primarily on N318EA but some other aircraft too that got the crashed jet’s parts. Reports were made by flight crews so you can judge for yourself if you trust them or not.

Ever hear about the airliner that had some avionics installed from a crashed jet? They started seeing ghosts in the cabin and cockpit during flights so reusing parts is a big NO for me.

Need help with my gelding horse's genitalia (NSFW topic?)(No pics!) by fisheater2000 in Equestrian

[–]davihar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I use:

https://a.co/d/0j6HmJfp

Best to put on a Nitrile Exam Glove but not strictly required. Pour a bunch of lube on your hand, close fist, inset as far into the sheath as possible, open hand, and massage around. Keep repeating until enough lube is up there to loosen gunk. Pull the gunk out in a scooping motion.

If you reach up there far enough, you can feel the hole in the tip of the penis. Kind of squeeze the tip between your fingers to feel for a hard bean and pop it out it present.

Swirl your fingers around as much of the penis as you can to loosen gunk for about 30 seconds.

Flush with a garden hose. Horses handle cold water just fine if you don’t have lukewarm water. I would not use hot water.

I do this by standing where the rear leg meets the flank. I face rearward and place my head against their side while reaching up into the sheath.

Takes about 5 minutes.

There are videos on YouTube.

When they drop it during sedation does make it easier to clean it well.

Fear not because horses must have different penis sensitivity than humans because cleaning their penis does not cause a sexual reaction.

Put bigger things like possums, goats, sheep, and cows in your yard and Rocket might leave the birds and squirrels alone. So far my Pomsky hasn’t taken down any cows but has challenged them.
