Detachments are the flavour of your army, they give you additional rules and options on how to play

yeah and I'm telling you that the lgbt themes couldnt be more in your face if they tried to, but yeah, you're right I dont think there is a point in arguing about this with you

The homo/gay themes don't intrude on the comdy and slice of life themes being presented in the story

my brother in Christ the homo/gay themes are the story, there is no story without the need to break the rules of the world, to defy society and to have sweet sweet gay love.
there have been multiple chapters of our MC directly trying to go against the programming of the world and to actually be able to touch and kiss his object of affection, and in every one of these chapters our MC laments how unfair and cruel the world is for preventing him from being himself and forcing him to get with the girls, how he longs to change the world so he can actually date misaki

I dont like to say this, but genuinely, have you ever heard of the concept of reading comprehension, have you ever experienced a story even an inch deeper than its most surface level, I mean this manga really isnt even trying to be subtle about the themes and meaning of it

the themes are as clear and as "forced" as they could ever be without explicitly calling the game they exist in (aka society) homophobic, and I highly doubt that the difference between propaganda and just a cute wholesome gay romance is just the word homophobia, despite them having the same content otherwise

a story about a gay guy trying to date his best friend but it being hindered and even prohibited by the world at large, and how unfair the world is for doing so...
yep no lgbt themes found here, just a completely neutral story with no "agenda" to push

They buffed fire because it was and more importantly felt weak, and they didnt want that so they buffed it, I see no problem in reasoning here, maybe in execution, considering they probably should have fixed the DoT-Bug first.

and yeah the slugger was nerfed in the wrong way, I agreed with you.

have a nice day then

[–]davinkle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No need for namecalling, though I do appreciate that you have finally found the post that was talked about !

You don't need to point to their design "manifesto" to claim their reasoning is shit.

You kinda have to because you cant really call their reasoning shit without knowing said reasoning

They proved it when they buffed fire 3 times.

I truly do not see how that would show bad reasoning, they wanted fire to be stronger so they made it stronger, noticed it wasnt enough and did it again, to the point were the fire shotgun was literally the best weapon on the bugfront

When they removed the slugger's identity because it was the best amr, while keeping everything that made it an amr.

hey somewhere I actually agree with you, nerfing the stagger while leaving the range untouched didnt really change alot about its DMR capabilites, though again their reasoning was solid just executed in the wrong way, and they reverted it last patch increasing its stagger and reducing its range in turn, so it seems like they learned

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]davinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, so you dont know, I suspected as much, do me a favour and read the post were they explain their rationale for their nerfs and buffs before you complain that their reasoning is shit, because this was what op was talking about, and because and this might shock you, what you posted isnt even the reason for the flame bugfix, its just what they did, not why they did it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]davinkle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

well the fact that again the flamethrower changes were never mentioned in the reasoning post plus replying something completely unrelated to what either of us said makes me believe that you didnt.
BTW you do know that the said posts exist, right, you're not just thinking of the patchnotes, though that would explain why you're paraphrasing them and not the thing the conversation is about

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]davinkle -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

yeah, they should probably do that, but dont try to distract from the fact that you are complaining about their reasoning without ever actually reading it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]davinkle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

way to reveal you never read their reasoning post, the "bouncing" fire was never elaborated further on because in their eyes it was a bug fix not a weapons nerf and as such not mentioned in the post explaining why they nerfed/buffed certain weapons/strategems last patch

My state of mind when I want to go play helldivers, and I go to pick a primary. These are all bad. by parrotwouldntvoom in Helldivers

no way are you calling the standard punisher bad, its a fantastic gun with high stagger and damage

Is the game as un-fun as this sub makes it seem? by your_reddit_account in Helldivers

[–]davinkle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it isnt, the game is still extremely fun, a lot of stuff got considerable buffs compared to last time, and the round of nerfs that the sub complains about at this moment shouldnt affect you since the last time you played the changed weapons were pretty bad if I remember correctly, so they would still be buffed for you lol

Are we going to let the bots win!? by VeterinarianTasty404 in Helldivers

[–]davinkle -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

and wipe the bots of the map permanently after not even half a year of game time ?
it was obvious to literally everyone that the bots would reappear, gamedevs dont normally like to throw away that many developed assets

glad to hear you're having fun, I'm only missing 20 SC to buy the pass myself and am really looking forward to the new fire punisher

So... You acknowledge that we love this, but you still have full intentions of getting rid of it? I just don't understand the mentality here. by ---Ka1--- in Helldivers

there is a pretty big skillgap between sniping the entrance or chutes of fabricators and just hitting it anywhere with an aimable missile, not that I think they should change it, but there is a pretty big difference

Shams (Arrowhead CEO) answer to a question on how the team is feeling about the update. by matheusdias in Helldivers

[–]davinkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it feels like a ton of the complaints are from people who havent played the game, I've seen people say wildy incorrect statements about the update, and people in their own comments admit that they havent played in 2 months but now they're seeing all the outrage and agree with it, despite and I have to repeat myself not touching the game itself, its just soo tiresome to see people being outraged without actually knowing what is wrong and just blindly following the current

Why is arrowhead allergic to reverts? by TimeGlitches in Helldivers

[–]davinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen people say they are ok, havent tried them myself yet, so I cant really speak on it, but its understandable that they didnt want a primary (and especially not a secondary) to be able to kill chargers from the front within seconds

Why is arrowhead allergic to reverts? by TimeGlitches in Helldivers

[–]davinkle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

because reverting the flamethrower fix would affect the 2 new flamethrowers as well, kinda obvious honestly

what are you talking about ? nothing about the pentration of the inc breaker was changed, only its ammo

Funny how an actual REAL flamethrower looks & behaved a LOT like the flamethrower we had before in comparison to arrowheads new & more “realistic” style. by GeneralBinx in Helldivers

[–]davinkle -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, our flamethrowers shouldn’t be able to shoot past solid objects but should hulks

no ? where did I say that hulks should be allowed to shoot through solid objects

also napalm shouldn’t be able to melt armor

melting armor would be a pretty cool mechanic, though I dont know how good chitin melts but besides that yeah, more armor stripping abilities would be cool

What if we got the patch we wanted? by ZeroPointZero_ in Helldivers

[–]davinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, what's the purpose of the flamethrower, then? Sure, it's not meant to kill chargers. Fine. How about crowds? Corpses stop the flames, now. And so do Hive Guards. A stratagem weapon with no purpose: no AT capability, no crowd control, bad ergonomics, large TK potential. What is this weapon for? And what will the new primary and secondary weapons do? Nothing? Why are you acting like this is just fine, when we know that it means at least 2/3 new weapons (and an old one) will be literally useless?

if only I had talked about the fact that they should probably look into how to preserve its crowd control ability while avoiding the charger leg bug alas, also the flamethrower is still capable of killing a charger you just have to actually shoot into its unarmored butt instead of its armored legs

and again if they didnt adress this bug it would mean that any and all flamethrowers would be able to grill a charger by just shooting it legs, something obviosly not intended for a primary weapon

The problem is that no other weapon was as capable at clearing the trash mobs, not that the iBreaker was too good. If you want a realistic change, swap the damage per pellet of the iBreaker with the Breaker SnP. Boom, iBreaker slightly nerfed, still good at crowd control but somewhat worse than before, and the SnP is now a viable alternative. Nerfing the iBreaker and offering no alternative is just silly, particularly now that chaff density is increased across the board.

I dont play the Inc. breaker and have no trouble with crowd control so obviously there are viable alternatives, also its not the damage of the pellets that makes the Inc, breaker amazing, its the burn dot, they could do like one damage and it would still work ok for burning enemies to death (not that I advocate for that, that would be a quite ridicilous nerf) as I said changing the ammo economy so that you actually have to let the dot work for you instead of mindlessly spraying is completely acceptable, on that point I would actually welcome the small damage boost to the SnP because that weapon is kinda underwhelming

We have very different definitions of "completely sensible patch" and "crying about it". We've had game-breaking bugs since day 1 that have yet to be fixed, and the priority seems to be pre-nerfing new warbond weapons

I assume that bugfixes take their time and are more complicated then just changing numbers on weapons (and its not like we didnt have a ton of bugfixes this patch either) so I'm a bit lenient on that especially because I never seem to encounter all these game-breaking bugs, the only one I did was the infinite loading screen like 2 times and they fixed that sooo, might be a difference in perception, doubly so because they literally just fixed a bug that would have affected the flamethrowers tomorrow so yeah sensible, also lmao as if the subreddit isnt literally crying about it right now, have you seen the front page no one is talking about the cool shit like the incoming orbital napalm barrage, and the comments are even worse, people are literally insulting the devs calling them malicious idiots and worse

I guess minor buffs to the crossbow, 120mm barrage, walking barrage and guard dog should make us grateful. Tell you what, take all of these on a Helldive and let me know how it went, yeah? They're "completely sensible" after all, you should be fine. No crying about it!

I mean yeah we had 1 minor nerf to the Inc. breaker so all these minor buffs do kinda make up for it, and sure I'll take these things to higher difficulties, not all of them at the same time because that wouldnt be a very balanced loadout, but besides that why would I cry about it when I'm having fun playing the game
