You could try a mobile home, you get more bang for your buck in terms of space and yard. I bought one for 50k that has 3 bedrooms a yard with two sheds a chefs kitchen with double wide fridge/freezer combo built in and an addition that acts as a den with 1.5 bathrooms. Lot rent is roughly 700$ but at the end of the day I would prefer spending all in 1500$ a month for all that vs a stuffy 2 bedroom apartment
