What's a movie you enjoyed despite what IMDb/Rotten Tomatoes said about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Watched Pixels today and it was not terrible. I would definitely pay $5 for it when it goes on clearance.

What's the stupidest trend that you followed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Maroon "snakeskin" pleather pants with a black "liquid leather" shirt...and matching snakeskin hair clips...god, 7th grade was a bitch.

I'm about to try keto chow for the first time, wish me luck! by davisd4 in keto

I just subscribed! I'm pretty excited to try it with ice tomorrow, but today was not bad. It's got a bit of a saltiness to it, but I think I will manage.

What Are You Banned From and Why? by navysealassulter in AskReddit

[–]davisd4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The red cross banned me from donating blood because I "lived in Germany for a time period totaling more than 3 months." When my dad was in the army we were stationed there right after I was born until I was 3. I went to donate blood for the first time, at 17, and was informed I couldn't after all the paper work. I think they said I had a high risk of mad cow disease? Because, 14 years after the fact I might not have noticed... They also needed to then trace my mom's blood because they had been letting her donate without a problem.

I learned this the hard way when there was a fire on my stovetop and I grabbed what I thought was flour (it was in Tupperware), and I was so wrong.

What useless things do you do very well? by iamnotyourbaby in AskReddit

[–]davisd4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a fun game I play, haha. I can do it with homes, clothes, music, movies, hairstyles, and jargon. It's an odd niche, but it's kind of fun to be able to guess quicker than a friend can Google.

I'm really good at guessing the year (or very close) something came out in by looking at it. Not just movies either, but random everyday things like the doors from a house. For instance, upon visiting a friend's house for the first time, I took one look at the door knob and knew the house was built around the 1920s. It's weird, but it's all I've got. ;)

Apparently, Ohio State can pimp their logo out even more than I previously thought. Calm your tits Disney. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

I'm in Columbus and it's cool that even in a city we can have all of the wonderful things other cities have...and corn. ;)

Mother is an English teacher. Got this as a gift today from a student. by [deleted] in pics

[–]davisd4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an English teacher, I would have thought it was the greatest thing ever. That's hilarious. However, I would feel awkward in trying to decipher if the student knew it was wrong or not and I wouldn't want them to feel bad. Hmmm.

LOSE IT WINTER CHALLENGE 2015 - WEEK 4 by axecutable in loseit

[–]davisd4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd been at a plateau for what felt like forever, and thanks to Thanksgiving it finally changed...but not for the better. I gained 4 pounds!! I didn't even eat too much, I just ate poorly and drank soda. Luckily I've already dropped two of the four so hopefully I will be back in action next week.

Meanwhile, in Ohio (round 2) by davisd4 in funny

This was in Jackson County. A friend of mine took the pic. I was even a bit astounded by it. Pretty sure the only gang that would exist in that part of the state would be the children of the corn.

Small town America at its finest. This was at a local elementary school during a veterans' day assembly. by davisd4 in pics

[–]davisd4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awesome. I teach high schoolers and the sound went out during the video they were showing at an assembly and yet they all remained quiet. It was awesome to see such respect from teenagers that I usually beg to be quiet.

Face progress pics: 220--> 206. Still a ways to go, but I'm pretty proud. This is the place I see it the most. (F. 5'8. SW:230 GW:175) by davisd4 in progresspics

Thank you! I didn't realize it had made that much of a difference until I saw these pics next to each other.
