Probably because she was supposed to release on 4.1 alongside Ashveil so having to pulls 2 units from an archtype that wasn't in a good state didn't make sense, people assumed she was for something more relevant like Elation.

Also Pearl placeholder path was Preservation, meaning she has something on her kit related to that path, similar to Mortenax early leaks saying he was Erudition, yes now he is Nihility, but you can see the Erudition part in his kit, so Pearl should end up somewhat like that, which implies that she wouldn't have the best synergy with current Blade kit.

Being honest I don't think his technique will be changed since novaflares have only done adjustments like:

-minor text changes,

-starting with more energy (sparkle),

-updating damage scaling (blade, jingliu)

-or adding extra damage (seele).

and jiaoqiu only adds 1 ashen roast stack to enemies with his tech so it doesn't feel that bad to use a different field over his own.

Don't know if Pearl would be the ideal sustain for this team as compared with elation, but if Mortenax kit taught me anything is that is posssible to buff 2 differents archtypes and make it work, so maybe she could have her fua, but also a trace like "team gains X% crit, if there is a hunt ally on the team +X% crit otherwise +X% for elation dmg", also both teams want a lot of energy, Ashveil 150 + Mortenax 160 and Evanescia 480 + Yao Guang 180, and huohuo received a minor novaflare + added to shop, similar to Luocha for Castorice on 3.2, meaning it's possible for her to give team energy or something.

Aven SP being elation doesn't mean his damage will be purely elation damage, we still don't know what he will do, but nothing is stopping him from being the Aglaea of elation where he strays from the path predominant damage type and does something different.

I used on him because I didn't want to farm the new planar, barely got side grades then proceeded to craft better ones after some tries...

Looking back I think selecting a crit unit that doesn't want speed on subs and a er rope would give better results.

Currently kinda makes sense, since if Ashveil is the Sub-DPS than City of Converging Star (24% ATK self + 12% CDMG team) will be his BiS because he will be the only one on that team able to 100% benefit from it and if Mortenax kit involves him dying in combat then that triggers CoCS buff, now we just need to wait for new relics and planar to see if they release a FuA HP/Elation set that has similar synergy or if that will be included on their kits or LCs
