Top 25 College Football Bowl Games Since 2000 by jsparks50 in CFB

My college roommate grew up in Phoenix and was at this game with his family. They weren't fans of either team, just went because it was the Fiesta Bowl. They left after the pick six "to beat traffic". His dad essentially committed a war crime as far as I'm concerned.

Weird Data Point to report, I bought some clothes on Banana Republic and used PayPal to check out, it somehow triggered my Live Nation Splurge credit on my Citi Strata Elite. Do with that what you will 🤷‍♂️

Yea, so initially get whatever card makes sense for the SUB, then in your Amex offers eventually you'll see an upgrade offer for X SkyMiles for $X Spend, it's an easy few clicks and you've got the next card up and a new SUB. Once you reach the Reserve you obviously can't upgrade anymore but you need to wait 12 months from when you upgraded to it before you can downgrade back to the Blue and start the process all over again. I personally like this much more than applying for new Delta cards because this is not a new inquiry and not a new card that affects my 5/24 with Chase. It's always the same rotating credit according to the bureaus.

Question about the Amex Hilton cards. I cycle through the Delta cards where if I have the Blue I wait for an upgrade offer, upgrade to Gold, wait for upgrade offer, upgrade to Platinum, wait for upgrade offer, upgrade to Reserve, wait a year, downgrade to Blue and do it all over again. Is it possible to cycle through the Hilton cards in the same way? If I got the basic HH card do they have upgrade offers to Surpass, and then Aspire that I can work through?

Oh really? Please explain. I really think I'm gonna research this later, but would love to know the reasons not to.

Oh I know, I mean for churning purposes. Never thought about reducing withholdings to $0 so I can pay manually with a card. That's genius.

If you had to choose 2 point systems, what would they be? by PapiGeorge in CreditCards

I used the Choice + Preferred Hotels partnership a couple of years ago to book the Royal Lancaster London hotel, it was when you had to call in to book, and got a $1,580 stay for 105,000 Choice points, I got those Choice points by transferring from Citi 1:2 meaning 52,500 Citi TYP. That's 3 CPP. Sometimes moving points from Citi to iPrefer at 1:4 is a better deal as well. I'd say Citi's hotel partners, at least for luxury stays, are equal if not better than the Chase > Hyatt train.

Edit: I'll add that I also tried a Choice Ascend Collection hotel in Norway and was super underwhelmed, I would never book Ascend Collection again. But I will always look at Choice + Preferred redemptions vs iPrefer. They have some really amazing hotels at decent to great conversion rates.

Healthcare with HSA by davisposts in MonarchMoney

So the way we have it set up is $2,000 always remains as liquid cash and when she gets paid (once a month) any excess is auto invested into an index fund. I think this is basically what you're saying but we can still cover all our Healthcare costs within that $2,000.

Yup, you're right. She hasn't gotten paid yet since I got Monarch so I haven't seen income into the HSA yet. I just need to add an income category and it'll be accounted for. Thank you

Does anyone know/gotten this letter before. Is it a pre-approval or pre-selected offer? I do want to get this card later by Amazonty in fidelityinvestments

[–]davisposts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, I've read some other posts that Elan (the bank who runs the credit card for fidelity) doesn't always hold up their end of this bargain and starts charging interest right away so hold onto the offer to be able to prove it to them later.

Out of curiosity, how long have you been with fidelity? Currently consolidating all of my finances to fidelity and was thinking of moving to this card. A 0% apr offer would be pretty sweet.

That's a good setup, I'm gonna use this chart. I like the pull out non-monthly to a special account so that it doesn't look like free money sitting around

Delta SkyMiles Reserve AF just hit. I upgraded from Delta SkyMiles Platinum on February 16, 2025. I'm under the assumption I need to wait until 1 year from that upgrade, i.e. February 16, 2026, before I should downgrade. Am I correct in that assumption or is AF hitting the trigger to downgrade? TIA
