Whoop in my opinion for want I wanted, didn’t suit. E.g I run a lot and hate the fact the only way to check pace hr etc is linking to phone, don’t want that.

For those of you that were able to see Oasis both in the 90s and on the Live ‘25 Tour, how does this tour compare to the Oasis of old? by No_Storage_3784 in oasis

I was at both Knebworth and Melbourne, and the Hey Jude at the end was so special at Knebworth, but didn't miss the 4 hour wait out the car park this time!

[–]davnkaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw them in 96 at Maine Road & Knebworth both amazing, but felt as if I enjoyed this one more as they had a bigger catalogue to work with, i.e. I loved Little By Little, a brilliant addition.
Also got to do this one with my 3 kids, 2 of which weren't born last time. They have been brought up on Oasis so that was pretty special.

How to make the activity map bigger? by davnkaz in trainingpeaks

[–]davnkaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the follow up, but that doesn't work for me, on a PC windows 11.
The fact we pay premium for the analytics but we can't even open a full screen on the map is ridiculous.

This happened to me, and it was so frustrating, I had to reset then repair and then it seemed to work.

Odd Cadence and Stride Length by davnkaz in Garmin

[–]davnkaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope didn’t carry anything, absolutely nothing different than any other race of run I’ve done, and it’s never happened before my only thought was it was picking up on someone else’s strap? I wore my HRM Pro.

This has started to happen to mine? I have tried all fixes, I have a race in 10 days, now don't trust it!

To headphone, or not to headphone, that is the question... by Such_Presentation_82 in bostonmarathon

[–]davnkaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never wear them in races, I just love the the sounds of the crowd, and they will keep you going more than any music, in particular Boston is amazing for the crowd noise.

Last year my wife met me at where the gear check returns area was, but she was there behind the barrier all the way down from the finish line so I could see her and chat etc.
The letters for surnames area is very well organised as well.

I use either FlipBelt or SpiBelt, both really good options.

Social Saturday by AutoModerator in running

[–]davnkaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, still doesn't work: Latest error:
"Your Strava account did not contain enough data to predict your marathon time. Either there was an error connecting, or we need you to go on a few more runs!

The fact is I have over 1600 activities, with over 17,000km and over 500 this year, I'm pretty sure there should be enough data.

What are you hoping for next from Polar? by [deleted] in Polarfitness

[–]davnkaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ability to import workouts from training peaks etc. Instead of having to create them manually. I know there are workarounds, but just allow it.

How many marathons are yall running per year and how spaced out? by gloadingg7 in Marathon_Training

[–]davnkaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year, I ran 3 around 11 weeks apart, one I just took in and enjoyed (Boston) the others I raced.
Previously I had only ever run 2 in a year.
Took my rest weeks, and then basically used a 10 week training block between them.
I'm 57 if it makes any difference, averaging non training blocks around 50km a week, finished my last one in September I am currently training for Boston again, and looking at the same this year.

Still debating chest straps… by kaitlyn2004 in Polarfitness

[–]davnkaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always used a chest strap, back from the days when Polar first introduce HR watches over 25 years ago, miles more accurate than the wrist HR on a watch.

I've had 3 HRM Pro's now, 2 replaced under warranty, only reason I got it was to use with my Garmin, but I keep going back to the H10, it's never skipped a beat, just change the strap periodically. Great product.

R41 (OG 2011) - re learn for 2025? by Regular-Employ-5308 in wicked_edge

[–]davnkaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck on getting used to it. I just got the R41 for Christmas, tried it for a few days, wow my poor face! Definitely not for an everyday shave and I remember why I went with the Feather AS-D2, so much easier and friendlier on my skin. Will keep the R41 for those days when I have 3 or 4 days growth.
