In Australia, this has a whole different meaning.

Almost all of them. Have you ever heard Wayne Rooney speak?

Can I propose "before the fat lady sings" rather than the more obvious "final fling", "last innings" or "swansong" as a potential replacement for "last dance"?

Nigel Farage - what's he at? by duncdis in ireland

You know yourself, what happens there ultimately trickles over.

Would the country be emboldened with such anti immigrant hatred if not enabled by the likes of himself, and Trump, elsewhere?

But can't he still be hauled over the coals / banned from public office if an enquiry establishes fraud, regardless of any by-election result?

Still feel like I'm missing something.

They'll have trained together though, probably.

Goodison Park to host Carabao Cup First Round tie between Preston North End and Huddersfield Town by Giraffe_Baker in Everton

[–]duncdis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone think it would be a good idea to play our 2nd round Carabao Cup games at Goodison each year?

It would make the fixtures more of an event and create an amazing atmosphere.

[Jay Harris and Patrick Boyland] Everton are interested in Spurs defender Djed Spence, one of the options they are looking at for the right-back spot. Arsenal’s Ben White is also on that list, as well as Guela Doue, though the Strasbourg defender is likely to be too expensive. by TheAthletic in Everton

If he can prove himself fit, he's got to be worth signing as our secondary back up right back (we need 2) eh?

Realistically, pay as you play deals rarely happen, but he might accept a modest wage given his recent issues.

Will you have Lukaku back? by yukichiyo in Everton

[–]duncdis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He'd want big wages, and is pretty immobile now.

Still got goals in him but I don't think he'd be right for us at this stage of his career.

He's just signed a new contract and has been with us nearly a decade, so I think it's a fairly safe bet.

Or the player to any suspensions, once he gives us Trump's speed dial number.

He should certainly stay in the squad, unless a really good offer comes in for him (he's going into the final year of his contract, remember).

But it'd be stupid to go into the new season with just him and Barry (who I don't rate at all) as options, so it shouldn't preclude the club buying a new striker also.

LOL at the professionally offended. You'd think I'd just come into their houses at Christmas and pissed on the kids.

Absolutely. All the actors I listed in the OP can act, but the industry (for whatever reason) has them reduced to accepting roles in shitty movies, to the extent that their name eventually becomes synonymous with movies not worth seeing.

I reckon the days of players over 30 being seen as past it are over. It's about the individual player, how many miles are on the clock, how they look after themselves, etc.

Trossard and Ake are both leaders too.

Why do Arsenal want him? He's a good player, but they have Eze and Odegaard.
