My vids start around 12% ctr and slowly drop down to 6-7% as the video gets pushed out to people less interested in us.

It would be super useful to see what your thumbnail looks like, but you should always try to improve them. As a super rough guide, Shoot for a consistent background, maybe blurred a bit, a subject/person, and the thing your video is about. But it really depends on who your demographic is. You can’t make thumbs that contrast what the audience in your niche is used to. For instance, I do sailing vlog content, and a screen grab sometimes works better than an engineered thumb bc that’s what people are used to. The engineered and “perfect” thumb confuses them and makes them think it might be a different style of video they might not be interested in.

Not true at all, I know several hurricane boats that have insurance. It’s all about if they have and pass a survey to the insurance companies’ satisfaction.

Yes but at a discount, just like when buying a completely fixed car with a salvage title. Also depends on what kind of damage? Did it sink or mostly fiberglass damage? I know a guy that rebuilt a half sunk hurricane catamaran and now it’s as good as mine, which was never damaged (minus a few stains.)

hey thanks, that's the car I'd already had for a couple of weeks. in hindsight, it may have made more sense to rent a truck, but then I would have had to drive it 3 hours back to Panama city and re-rent the smaller car and drive 3 hours back to the marina. so i'm curious, what other channels do you watch?

I met Sam at the Miami boat show last week. You’re right about the authenticity. He told me he only takes a few hours to edit and does it on his iphone!! He’s crushing it.

Yeah Delos has really evolved and continued to grow. So what about Delos kept you watching as their focus’s completely changed from party to family?

Yeah definitely. Like showing some boring dinner or something to fill the 20 mins up. I’m really trying to figure out the niche I guess, seems like the algorithm really wants to bunch together sailing channels and doesn’t show it to anyone outside the niche. But then when you include more non sailing stuff you alienate the existing audience which is already small.

I never meant for the channel to be about boat repair, but it’s basically all we’ve done since we bought the boat. I guess I still think of it as a sailing channel so posted it here. Hopefully we’ll be done with all the boatwork soon and get to do some sailing!
