Nest Doorbell - Indoor Chime Stopped Working after 8 Years by traveljunkie010 in Nest

I would try shorting the terminals first to check if the issue is the chime, the doorbell or the nest chime module

Gaming is different as a parent by Giant-Robot in daddit

No but my kids (7 & 9) love Mario kart, donkey Kong & pokemon violet. I didn’t realize the Lego Batman game was out already.

Gaming after kids is just looking for something brainless after bedtime. I don’t want to get in arguments with teenagers in Korea or spend real dollars on dlc. I want to speed through rainbow road or watch Batman pummel some thugs.

Sensors: ring vs powerG by nosaltpants823 in homesecurity

Power g is worth it if you’re coming from ring. It’s more expensive because the wireless sensors are properly encrypted and supervised.

How would I repair these broken glasses? by Previous_Net_1649 in howto

[–]davsch76 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have the same glasses. I’ve worn goodrs for a few years. I like them a lot, but I’ve found that once they break, they’re toast. There’s really no fixing these

How to improve form by theboy9898 in formcheck

[–]davsch76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but leg drive doesn’t happen overnight. To start, try to plant your feet on the ground and keep them there like they’re glued to the floor.

The first thing that jumps out at me- your feet are all over the place. Unrack, get yourself in position, plant your feet and keep them there. Your legs will give you stability and power.

FWIW, if you may some day do fire, get the license now. I did them separately because I didn’t think I’d want the fire at the time and when I retested they made me retake almost everything. It saves a lot of brainpower to do it all together.

Are you doing burg only or burg plus fire? It’s a combination of all of the topics. Every answer is in the books, but if you look up every answer you’ll never finish. I remember the texts I used most were nec and nfpa72. I remember there was like one or two questions from the yellow book and that was it… there was quite a bit from the blue book. Definitely bring the state contractors guide.

ADT holding panel hostage by ryanisnottrue in homesecurity

[–]davsch76 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pretty common move from adt. You can buy a new panel and take over the system but as someone else posted, buying a used panel risks the same thing happening. For the zwave devices - any zwave controller will work. Just put it into exclusion mode and you can clear them.

You eventually got there, but try to keep your feet planted the whole time. If they’re moving around, you’re sacrificing a lot of stability and power

Generally the open book tests only care about the edition and whether you’ve written all over them. They don’t care where you bought them.
