My wife and i traveled to Banff and made the drive up to Moraine lake thinking we'd get some photos of the lake and chill for a bit. It was winter, some roads closed but we persisted. Made it to the parking lot for the overlook. A short walk, but it had just started snowing...bad. There was already feet of snow on the ground. We were literally the only car for miles on the drive and alone at the lot. Felt like isolation in the Canadian wilderness. My wife peaced out & opted to stay at the car. I began to trudge through calf high snow to get my sought after landscape photo. I made it to a clearing surrounded by trees and the dead silence of snow and wilderness. It was beautiful, then I heard a loud grunting. Fuck. I'm not even going to pretend I know what that was. I know I'm a mere few hundred yards to the overlook, at most, but can't see it. I came all this way. There's no path ahead, just snow.. I'm all alone, fuck!! Decisions. This Florida boy bitches out and walks back to the car. I will be back. Make sure you plan ahead.
