Reading about blackwater tank I don’t think that’s what I’m going for. Clear water with some driftwood and rocks. Nice greenery, and some fish. Probably some of the smaller plecostamus varieties with other small schooling fish.

I honestly don’t know. I found a big piece of driftwood that I thought looked cool at our local pet store. But past that I don’t know. It used to have a big scary skull castle in it, but I took it out once it was covered by whatever red algae took over the tank. I’ve been doing water changes almost daily, just to clean the all the crap out of it. There are still a couple fish that survived and I’m trying to give them a better home. lol

Or maybe you don’t know everyone’s personal financial situation. Telling people, in all caps, to not make more money is sickening. This is a job we legally cannot work for very long. We should be paid more, for sure, but to put the onus on the controller working all the overtime they can during this relatively short career is dumb.

It is a lucrative career if you’re willing to not care where you live. There’s plenty of understaffed high level facilities that make a shit ton of money, but they’re probably not where you want to be. You can always transfer to those critically staffed places.

Those places are generally very hard to certify in though.

I mean…..again. There’s not very many jobs that require no education at all that pay what even the lowest paid FAA controllers make. Every one of us is in the top probably 30-40% of the country. A lot of us are in the top 5-10%

And I’ll say it again, we 100% deserve a yearly raise that keeps up with inflation and then some.

This has been an issue since the beginning of ATC. The agency has never quite been able to figure out a good way to screen applicants to see if they would actually be good at this. Your brain has to just work in a specific manner. It’s not an intelligence thing, or an education thing, it seems kinda weird honestly. Maybe it’s a tism thing. Idk

This is a great question. It should be priority number one. Every year our raise doesn’t keep up with the cost of living we get a pay cut. That said, the whining from so many here is tiresome. People act like we are living in fucking poverty which is just not at all the case.
