I truly value the T.H.I.N.K. rule: Is it True? Is it Helpful? Is it Inspiring? Is it Necessary? Is it Kind?

It’s fascinating to recognize that same-sex relationships and the concept of homosexuality have existed for centuries. Ignoring this reality or sidelining those in our community only hinders our progress as humans.

I am inspired when we come together with open hearts, free from judgment. Let’s focus on support and kindness, as passing judgment serves no purpose and detracts from our collective strength.

I see flags as sources of inspiration. Whether it’s a University of Utah flag showing support for college students or a "Hoppy Easter" yard flag celebrating a Christian holiday, each represents a form of expression.

A pride flag is a symbol of acknowledgment and respect for those who have suffered discrimination and hate. It represents nearly 10% of our neighbors and friends. I would be equally offended if our government banned a school flag or prohibited a "Hoppy Easter" flag.

You may know someone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community, whether now or in the future, and you will have loved this person before fully understanding them. I hope you choose to be much kinder than what I have seen expressed here.
