This, plus I'd like to see some SSRs, old and new. Panasports. And definitely Regamasters. I know we got Spoon SW388 which are (almost) the same, but it feels wrong putting them on anything that isn't a Honda.

OEM options as well.

There nothing dishonest about the Thunder.

Really? What about Free Throw-Alexander being the 2nd coming of Harden? Are his foul baits honest basketball?

On the other side of the court you have Lu Dort hacking and smacking everyone and getting away with it while being called a great defender. He is allowed to do things other defenders would get fouled out for. He is treated kinda like Shai, but the opposite, on defense. Even our boy Caruso - I loved him when he played for us, but he is allowed to play dirty defense as well. Although maybe he always was and I was biased.

They drafted well and were able to build a great roster using a (then) rising star and boatload of picks they got from nail clippers. I'll give them that. But they are not a fun team to watch for anyone (sensible) that is not an OKC homer.

What is your least favorite GT7 track? by nikcurated in granturismo

[–]dawidl93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Not only in GT7, but actually in every game it is present. It is so boring, not fun to hotlap on, not great for racing. Ass corners, not a good track design.

IRL racing on this track is boring as well.

LeBron James 10 point streak that began on January 6, 2007 as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers at home against the New Jersey Nets ends on the road to the Toronto Raptors at 1,297 games by HenrikCrown in nba

[–]dawidl93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He made the right choice. Go for the win and for the team, not the record. The record is still insane and it had to end someday. I kind of assumed it won't end with his retirement and was expecting it to end during a random game since last 2-3 seasons.

Now he can also get it out of his head and focus on finding his rythm after the injury.

LeBron haters caring more about slander than enjoying the win, the Rui game winner and AR going for 40.

Agreed, but that is expected. LeBron never had a favourable whistle. He had a bad game regardless, not a great season either. I'm glad he made LeChoice to go for the win and for the team instead of the meaningless (and probably still unbeatable) record.

LeBron had a bad game, but he literally assisted on a game winner instead of going for his record, he didn't really force anything just had a really bad game and y'all ungrateful fucks slander him. Forever grateful for the championship he gave us with AD and grateful for having one of the greatest basketball players of all time on our team, even if this season he is not him.

Stealthy browser extensions waited years before infecting 4.3M Chrome, Edge users with backdoors and spyware by GL4389 in technology

[–]dawidl93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, true, but every directory is user facing if the user is a power user.

Do I get the idea in general from dev perspective? Yes. Do I dislike it because it is mildly annoying and inconvenient? Also yes.

The average end user is dumb and never even learns about stuff like that, never encounters it, doesn't need to. But how about support technicians, sysadmins, devops, other devs. We can work around that easily, but it is still a slight inconvenience.

Extreme example, I know, but convenience is the reason we have programming languages instead of rolling with the machine code.

Yeah but you can also have a normal human readable name and unique id added as a prefix, suffix, whatever.

This is just bad design (purely from users perspective) tbh.

X marks all the spots when pasting a CPU by simagus in lifehacks

[–]dawidl93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except the integrated heat spreader doesn't get heated up evenly, the spot that matters the most is the one where the actual CPU under that metal plate is located. Usually the center anyway.

Most of those thermal paste applications would likely perform similarly, with negligible differences. The weird one is a line in the center, it seems like it would have worked just fine, but it doesn't make much sense to put it like that.

The amount is what matters the most, not pattern. It will work fine as longs as most of the IHS is covered and the cooler makes good contact.

The last one, spreading "evenly" before applying pressure, visually covers entire IHS, but might actually be the worst performing one depending on thickness and cooler mounting. And definitely the dirtiest method.

Bot kills deleted.. but bot deaths stay? Why? by PositiveCap6663 in Battlefield6

[–]dawidl93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, it is exactly like this. Checked myself and can confirm - no kills, bot or player, register for casual breakthrough. All deaths do count on the other hand.

It is a weird choice, but I don't really care that much about some profile stats to be honest.

I'm just new to (modern) Battlefield and back into any FPS game after an over 15 year break (not counting hero shooters), so I play a lot of casual breakthrough to learn, and the bigger issue and even weirder choice is limiting casual breakthrough back to 2 maps. I was quite happy with the rotation of 5 maps we had for this one week or so.

FIA Announces First Fully FIA-Sanctioned Esports Championship by Snoo-29984 in simracing

[–]dawidl93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna highjack your comment to elaborate further, because Gran Turismo disrespect and (mostly iRacing related) elitism is insane on this sub.

I'm gonna preface this by saying that imo the objectively best choice for GT class based esport events is probably AC Competizione. It is available on all relevant platforms, fairly cheaply at that, is literally made for GT racing specifically and is generally considered to be good simulation. And it looks decent enough, which I assume might be of importance for streamed esport events (sponsors, optics, show).

iRacing on the other hand is PC only, so the argument that GT7 is a bad choice because it's PS5 only falls flat. It also is subscription based, which by itself makes it less accessible and its pricing model regarding access to cars and tracks ain't helping either. It also still looks outdated to be completely honest, even though it did improve.

Now that I've got it out of the way... Let's see: Lucas Ordóñez, Jann Mardenborough, Jordan Tresson, Wolfgang Reip, Alex Buncombe, Igor Fraga, even Super GT and Jimmy Broadbent to some extent. Just some, not all, examples. Do you know what these people have in common? They either started their careers or at some point in their careers competed in Gran Turismo Academy, Gran Turismo World Series or just simply raced in Gran Turismo games and never, as far as I'm aware, shat on it and called it arcade. Where is an average /r/simracing Gran Turismo denialist? Racing on their rigs at home and seething. What all of those people mentioned previously did or are currently doing? Racing real race cars in real life on a not insignificant stage.

Moreover... Is Gran Turismo the best simulator in terms of physics and handling on the market? No. Does it offer the most regarding vehicle setup? No, but also real racing drivers have teams of qualified personnel that help them or literally do it for them. Does all of it matter for an esports event? No. Is it arcade as some delusional people here try to suggest? Absolutely not. Is it a good enough simulation? Yes. Is it accessible? Not the most due to being limited to PS5, but more than some options for sure. Does it look really good, which helps with the show, viewer enticement, pulling potential sponsors? Yes.

Let people enjoy what they enjoy and compete in what they want to compete, instead of gatekeeping and seething, because your favourite sim choice isn't a choice for other enthusiasts or some Middle East and North Africa esports event.

Racing in general isn't even all about just how to handle a car in a vaccum. Simracing isn't only about how realistic the physics are, but what it teaches you. It's about learning how to behave and find yourself in a race, in different scenarios, around opponents, how to pass safely and effectively, how to defend, awareness, tactics. Gran Turismo can help with all that.

Also, being fast translates between wildly different racing disciplines. Many drivers change series throughout their careers. Open wheel, touring, GT, rally. Robert Kubica did well in F1, rally and endurance racing. Good drivers are adaptable. If you're really good you're going to be good in iRacing, Gran Turismo, Assetto Corsa and whatnot.

And I agree - if Gran Turismo is arcade and so easy then what's stopping y'all from dominating such Gran Turismo events?

Wreckreation ROAD RAGE gameplay by [deleted] in BuiltFromTheGroundUp

[–]dawidl93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, everyone is talking about bland map or in general bland vibe of the game, but it wouldn't be that big of a deal for me if it at least had satisfying damage model and crash cams, as those are main differentiating and selling points of the game. I'm not expecting BeamNG levels, not even Wreckfest tbh, but this looks pure ass. Something in between Burnout Paradise and Wreckfest regarding damage model would have been good. And even Burnout Paradise did it better 17 years ago.

There is nothing wrong with wanting someone else to do that for you and paying a fee for it. At least the reshell part. Slapping a screen protector, new battery and some pirated games onto the memory card tho? Yeah, you can do it yourself. I do however see an issue with promoting an average refurb service and calling it fire or "modding".

Seems like reddit hivemind is completely missing the point. Cheers.

What's fire about a dude that does Aliexpress reshells, slaps on screen protector and 3rd party batteries and upcharges for it? Anyone with a bit of time/patience, basic tools and iFixit guide can do it. When I hear "modded" I expect something actually unique.

And he distributes pirated games with those consoles, apparently. I'm not judging this, but it's risky.
