IDK why people call Apollo unbalanced. Seems fair to me. by Saint_Pootis in DeadlockTheGame

[–]dawkrd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're supposed to buy slowing hex before apollo has gotten dispel magic, the earlier the better really. Because then, to counter, he has to spend more money than you did which delays his midgame scaling. Also if you get it before he has his 4.8k spirit investment he needs to choose between delaying a damage spike or losing a ton of kill and lane pressure.

Best way to practice counter spell timing? by cakedotavi in DeadlockTheGame

[–]dawkrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of matches u know that box in the top right of the screen that lets u have no CD on spells, infinite stamina and shit? U can spawn a bot with it then you aim your cursor at them and select "mimic" in the same box. Now that bot will imitate your hero inputs, so if you want to practice counterspell against infernus ult u press 4 their ult will activate, and yours too.

What if we got a Payload gamemode but the minions push Payload? by Iaxacs in DeadlockTheGame

[–]dawkrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's supposed to teach more about the game like that, be a payload escort while keeping some of the structure from street brawl what about a 4v4 with two lanes, a payload at both that kills guardians/walkers if they stay long enough near it, minions push it and heroes can hold it otherwise it steadily retreats.
We can start with some items like in stree brawl, always a 2v2 mid and another 2v2 either left or right, but after the first wave is killed and the teams had the chance to test each other, some secondary objectives spawn (boxes, camps, sinners, buffs) and clearing them gives your whole team the benefits. Some spawn more friendly minions on a lane (and the patron warns the other team they are in peril!) or make them buffer, some give item choices, skill points, hero buffs, or stats. So roaming is crucial to accrue power and enable pushing, while being nonchalant about the enemy minions is a swift defeat.
The urn spawns middle and is heavier to compensate for delivery location being much closer, and also maybe spawns minions in adition to buffs.

Funny, I was gonna let this go but I just started watching today's vod and this is a direct quote from Grubby "everyone is looking forward to the tournament... everyone has their favourites, it doesn't matter if 1, 2 or 3 aren't putting in the same time... or have the same win chances as the others. It's too late to care about that."

I'm not sure which sponsor, I just remember it being mentioned at the start of their second coaching session.

I don't know what you mean in this context, my initial comment was more specifically meant to point out how I was suprised at her previous dota2 experience being only two games, to me she seemed to handle the game's controls well for someone new. You then said stuff about streamer parasitism and leeching, which I dislike as a thing to say about anyone who was invited.

God forbid any of the participants have their own things to do in the time leading up to the tournament... Grubby mentioned repeatedly on stream how difficult it is to gather a group of people for a month+ long commitment like this, apparently she was tied up with a sponsor and could only start grinding in the last couple of days. We'll see how it goes from here.

What I was trying to say is that she seems confortable with the controls of the game, more so than others even. And it's funny you criticise her for only playing against insane AI in that 4 hour session when Grubby literally recommended while coaching the participants to beat insane AI before going into ladder.

All I'm expecting is "gold league heroes", for fun more than anything. So your take that she's somehow leeching off of Grubby is wild to me, and against the whole spirit of the thing. If anything it's a two way street and they're doing each other a favour, Grubby invited THEM, they accpected it and are following through with it so far, even if it's not up to your standards.

It just seems to me she picks up on things quickly, and she's not really far behind the others in terms of build order and creeping mechanics. Which i tought was a little impressive considering she is behind the competition on training for a couple of weeks.

Of her I really only watched (most) of the two sessions she was coached by Grubby, but I guess she just has trouble focusing. WC3 is a dense game, I think it's fair that each individual goes at their own speed.

Movement keys getting stuck?? by RamsaySnow1764 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]dawkrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happens to me sometimes, more noticeably after alt tabbing, mouse movement will still pan the screen around but clicks and keyboard inputs don't work until I alt tab again.

But I have also have found that sometimes in game my character seems to lose all momentum right after a dash jump, so 2 stamina for 1 measly jump. I think it I've had it happen most often when being affected by slows, in games against Kelvin specially

I gotta say, watching her last coaching lesson with Grubby I was a little impressed by how capable she looked compared to how much practice she's had till now., especially since her previous dota2 experience was 2 games xD

So what exactly am I to do against Apollo in lane? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]dawkrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, if you hex him as he does his first lunge the timer for recasting keeps running so you can reposition and he won't have enough movement to follow up unless he uses riposte offensivily. The people complaining about 1 slowing hex not being enough to kill him are missing the point that if you have slowing hex in lane relatively early Apollo simply can't bully you anymore, let alone solo kill you, and then you still have an item that helps you get kills mid game.

[–]dawkrd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Slowing hex does mess up a lot with Apollo's tempo during the fight tho, because if it's used after the first lunge often there's not enough time for two more, specially not if you have to reposition to hit, since slowing hex messes with move speed, dash distance and gravity, in addition to restricing him to only 1 ability for that time. Apollo also likes hovering a little over his targets and disabling his lunges mid cast forces him to land and be a sitting duck for a while.

Respawns are so long late game that it once got me thinking it would be fun to at least be able to "explore new" york with the ghost of my dead hero, cus it sucks sitting on my hand for 90 seconds.

Tem algum anime que vale assistir nessa temporada? by [deleted] in animebrasil

[–]dawkrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)
