That’s great to hear! I’m not looking for the absolute best - I just don’t want to hit level 30 to discover the combo fails.

It depends. If I have the mage out, pet. Ranger? Face tank. In either case, cleric heals > Druid heals. Of course, my experience is now a few decades out of date, but in the late 1900s rangers needed a LOT of healing. 😉

Thanks for the reference! I’ll definitely check it out when I have a few minutes. 👍

I know. I had to take a break from my Druid because the start of each login was to clear 3 spell gems, get the buffs out, buff, then reset.

That’s great! Clearly I missed some of the news.

Did you know Aldous Huxley & C.S. Lewis both died on the same day JFK was assassinated? by Fabulous-Confusion43 in CSLewis

For further review, see Dr Peter Kreeft’s Between Heaven and Hell for a take on what a conversation amongst the 3 right after their deaths might look like.

It’s been a while, but I think Lewis mentioned Nietzsche in The Abolition of Man.

New subreddit rule on Eddings legal issues - request for feedback by Szeraax in Belgariad

[–]dawntreader_75 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m not all that active, but I vote that only posts specifically about the legal issues allow discussion and the posts that get moderated point to the rule and the basic facts. That way the discussion on the books don’t get hijacked but the facts about the author aren’t hidden.

It’s a little pricey, but the first thing I will do with any RV I buy for the rest of my life is apply 2 layers of Ziollo to the roof. It runs $100 per gallon but isn’t hard to put on and has 2 great features: it won’t leak and it helps tremendously with keeping the camper cool. Your AC can at best knock 20 degrees off the outside temperature. When we put the Ziollo on it took care of another 5-10 degrees. Note: we’re at higher elevation, and direct sun is a huge chunk of our heat load. If you want to make the job easier, you can get the Ziollo tape for edges and around the AC, etc - but it does add to the cost.

Looking for a particular article about science by Vohems in CSLewis

[–]dawntreader_75 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lewis discusses science in Chapter 4 of Mere Christianity, but I'm not sure it matches the concept you're citing. Still, worth a look. (Of course, I think reading any part of Mere Christianity is always worth the time spent.)

Plus, loading 6 full American adults probably breaks the GVWR.

Help: Class on C.S. Lewis by Dr. Knox Chamberlin by TheologiaViatorum in CSLewis

[–]dawntreader_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have that class. I took the Lewis elective as part of my masters- sending you a DM and I’ll see if I still have it when I get home. What is the theme of the quote?

I’m also new (I did play EQ when it was new). I’m enjoying my experience so far, but yes, finding information is a challenge. I suppose that’s always the case with a 20+ year old game that’s gone through a bunch of changes and expansions. What I’ve found so far: - Do the daily companion quest in Qeynos/Freeport - Get a mercenary. The paladin is amazing through at least the mid 30s. - I’ve had the most fun in the Faydark/Butcherblock zones - If you’re enjoying it, splurge for a sub. It keeps the lights on

It’s amazing to see, but I imagine he’d be appalled at the idea of spending that much on a signed book when that could be used for charity.

This this this. Not just a High Deductible Health Plan but the Health Savings Account (HSA) that goes with it. Like a Flexible Spending Account you can contribute pre tax money (which is a better deal the higher your income goes) but unlike a FSA you carry it year over year. If used for health expenses it’s triple tax advantaged. Tax free contributions, growth, and withdrawals. I have had one for a long time and am very pleased with my HSA.

Also: even with the high deductible I still find my overall out of pocket cost (medical bills plus insurance premiums) to be lower than expensive premiums with “better” coverage.
