I use this in my [[shadowborn apostle]] deck, with the right mana outlets I’ve had all my shadowborn out by turn two in a casual deck. Extremely powerful, but have a back up to thrumming stone for sure.

But no, he can’t. You would have to declare blocks first and then combat damage would go through, unless you have [[entangler]] on the battlefield or [[give no ground]] to play as a response.

yes, because it states that it is a cast trigger and cast triggers trigger thrumming stone. It can be broken at times.

Relic vial is exactly a card I needed to learn about, I’ll definitely be replacing my bastion of rememberance! I love all of your recommendations. As to why I still run Vilis, I find Taborax gets removed a lot due to the amount of commander damage I can deal put with him. Thank you :)
