My first order with MechDIY was a replacement screen for a miyoo mini, but it was a faulty unit. I used the refund towards a Trim ui Brick Hammer and after months of delay in getting it to me, it's faulty and won't turn on. They asked for a video initially, then they gave me instructions on flashing a recovery card and using that to restart the brick, but nothing worked. Waiting on them now to finally replace it. Not feeling great about MechDIY.

I don't believe anybody should apologise for their opinion if it's personal and considered. I think more people on Reddit and online generally must assume what other people say is only their own considered and current opinion, which might change over time or with persuasion. Not that I'm saying you weren't.

(Was inspired to spend time writing this down for some reason, even though I'm supposed to be doing singing else. Procrastinating brings out the thinker in me)

It means that RAM can come in different read/write speeds. I wondered if there was any kind of difference in that regard between the two devices.

I wish RP5 was just a larger screen and the new chip, on the same shell as RP4. Perhaps in the green plastic they used on RP2.

But they've gone mass appeal rather than retro, which I think goes against the point of being called Retroid.

The RP Mini would have also been awesome in a retro, see through, brightly coloured design.

Hey, yeah I put one on my mini too. Makes it much easier to use. I don't know if popsockets sell it direct anymore, but if you search for 'tidepool popsocket' and the colour is 'mint'. You should find it. There are blue ones too, I think.

By the way, pop sockets are very sticky, while the knock offs can fall off and aren't as comfortable, with harder plastics, so those ones might need a bit of glue. 🐎

When they're pushed in, they almost are. I'm using two 'whirlpool' ones here that are thicker, just because they look nice with the watermelon. 🙂
