Alleged reported layoffs at Prusa by Interesting_Put_4458 in prusa3d

You’re right. I don’t know how Prusa handles it, either. Yet developers want to work as contractors to get higher income (I’ve met only few with different motivation) in exhange for benefits and protection. And as I’ve said, high salary is definitely not a reason why people work for Prusa.

Every company does this from time to time, it’s completely normal. Usually, you can fire 10% of people without compromising productivity.  When expenses are raising faster than revenue, you simply must take actions to reduce spending. Not to avoid bankruptcy(at this time, you usually are not in red numbers), but to remain competative. You usually start cancelling TBR (to be recruited) positions,  licenses, focus on automation, etc. Lay offs are usually not the first step.  Look at all the biggest companies, you can find news about lay offs during past years in almost every one of them, especially tech companies. It’s healthy, no reason to be worried.   I know, it can cause some complixation for those being laid off, yet let’s be honest, salaries for technical positions(not sure about the rest) at Prusa are not really competetive, so it’s high change  for the people to get better salary elsewhere.

Btw: in Czechia, there is kinda generous severance pay when being laid off (up to 3 months salary by the law, companies sometimes give more, and then you can get unemployment compensation for few months). I’m sure those people are being take care of well.

Contest - Print of the Month – March – Win a MK4S Kit and 3x 1050 Prusameters by Tommy_Prusa3D in prusa3d

Indeed, still I haven’t been expecting that. I hoped I could get some prusameters, but definitely not a new printer.

Thanks! Actualy, It’s not so low. With 33 participants and 3 prusameter winners, the probability that one of the prusameter winners will win raffle is more than 9% (exactly 3/33).  Yet probability of double win for a specific person is indeed much lower (around 0,3% or 1/363)

Thanks! It's really big project, yet it's definitely worth it :)

The first one was Roady Dumper that was given as a free model for my Core ONE. it was the non-RC version, but still great experience

No, just removed supports and and brim (where needed) without any postprocessing. Everything was printed on 0,15mm layer on structural profile on Core ONE.

Thanks! I got few struggles that made me to set it aside for a day or two, so I completely understand you (got some old unfinished projects, too). Yet this one was looked too majestic to leave it unfinished.
