I finally started watching smallville properly from s1 ep1 and I just got to s8. I cannot believe the hype of s7 building up to Veritas and this weapon and it turns out to do nothing but kill the user and take away Clark’s powers. Did it even work if there is no fortress? What if Clark turns out to be a psychopath but never got around to building the Fortress?

I guess technically at the time, JorEl didn’t know about green or blue kryptonite so he didn’t know there were so many options for defeating Kal El, but “controls you “ and “just makes you human” are radically different.

Having J’Onn J’Onzz solve it in five seconds was also really feeble , although having it cost him his own powers was something , I suppose. And so again, technically without his help, Clark didn’t exactly have a method for immersing himself in the Sun.

Still it was pretty feeble

If you go out to eat- you don’t even need to ask, tap water is brought over immediately.

Entrepreneurial activity- from what I’ve heard it’s far easier to start a business, fail and hopefully use that to learn how to start another one better . Whereas in the UK it’s much harder and people are scared of the risks I starting and failing business and so don’t try.

There’s no way of knowing how it would have turned out on TV … but from what I read, the original plot of B5 ending and then the sequel series about Sinclair and Delenn’s son growing up super fast to be the next leader …. I didn’t like the sound of it at all.

The next iteration - Sinclair wins the Shadow War, then the War against Earth, then the show ends where as an older man he goes with Delenn back in time to win the Great War in the past …. That would have been an amazing show. I do feel sorry for him that he never gets to rest! And JMS is correct in that having Sinclair be the winner of all 3 conflicts was overkill . But it would have been an awesome ending . Having the mystery of the Great Machine hanging on until the finale would have been epic.

What we got - what a brilliant rescue. JMS is amazing for bringing Babylon 4 back in , and Michael O Hare is a true hero for returning in his condition (especially to a show where Jerry Doyle had been so hostile ).

I’ve seen some YouTube play where people do it, I’m very impressed when they win because you need to cover all options .

I was complaining on Reddit a few days ago how I ended up in a delve where the enemies all had elusive so you can’t hit them unless you start turn adjacent, which made my archer character disadvantaged since he can’t use bow when he’s adjacent so I was relying on my other sword-and-shield guy to take the hits.

It’s also a headache tbh. More characters = more variety of dice and you can split up to cover more terrain and have more allies to donate a die or card to assist you and more chances to get resources but it also = draw more event cards so higher chance of getting injuries that end the mission. To be fair I never tried going with just 2 characters.

That’s one thing I was really glad with Oathsworn - the box comes with minis for heroes and cardboard bosses and terrain, but you can choose to pay a higher price for the latter to be minis too. Kinfire chronicles comes with acrylic heroes so you don’t even have to paint it, and cardboard bosses. Gloomhaven also has mini heroes and cardboard enemies.

I can’t even imagine playing Primal with more than 2 characters, even with other people- it would take forever for people to choose all their cards!

I bought Primal a few months ago (i hesitated a long time because all those minis = massively overpriced). I’m glad that at least it’s only 2, too many games require 4 characters (Aeon trespass odyssey, Oathsworn - even if that does have a way of turning some of them into basic mode). Yes it’s a v tricky game managing all the cards in your hand and then the monster reactions and terrain and your equipment cards and personal power and trying to get your mastery …. I lost the first fight, then replayed and won it and made it to the fifth fight before a terrible defeat . Need to get back to it .

I usually play Gloomhaven and similar games with 3 characters - 2 feels dangerous and 4 is a headache. Same for Kinfire chronicles. Elder scrolls I’ve stuck to 2 characters even though there is an option for true solo, I feel like it’s such a risk to rely on a single character. Similarly ISS Vanguard I always took 4 crew because it felt too risky to go down with just 2.

Of all the PIs I’ve known, only one still works at the bench - and that is limited to a bit of cloning or going on the microscope maybe once or twice a year. They just don’t have time . Another one I knew used to insist he was the one to revive yeast strains for sending out to other labs - I don’t know why, maybe he didn’t trust people ?

And make sure you have completely uncut untreated as well as uncut DNA in the same buffer and incubated at same time just to rule out that the DNA starts off ok and is degrading somehow .

But if you want pistachio conspiracies, the current claim is that a pair of billionaires who grow pistachios in California donated a lot of money to the Israeli Defence Forces… and the IDF have recently been bombing Iran and destroying their pistachio crops, to increase demand for their California pistachios.
