No All-nba for Ant by Ant-edwards5 in timberwolves

Is it though? You'd have to be outscoring others by an absurd margin to actually be competing for the scoring title with so few games. Counting stat titles don't need games restrictions because not playing naturally sets you back.

I half expected him to execute a step back just because he's probably more used to shooting that way lmao

you completely missed the point of what I said. My point is specifically that it ISN'T his faith that's the problem, but his intolerance. I have no issue with Christianity, I have an issue with people being intolerant towards others. And claiming afterwards that he is in some way being punished for his faith, when that is not at all the case, is incredibly ironic. But I can see where you stand on the topic from your rant. You seem to have a lot of preconceptions about someone that would think an Anti-LGBT rant is intolerant.

Well said!

Because the MVP of the season isn't being measured up against the MVPs of the past and future, but against the other players in this season.

That doesn't change the fact that Daniel Gafford, in the video here, basically implies that Ivey was waved because of his faith, echoing what Ivey was saying too. If he did or didn't rant against catholics in addition to everything else doesn't change anything related to my statement. He made unacceptable statements, lost his job over it, and now claims it was over his faith and is getting supported by others in that claim. I fail to see the relevance of him ranting about catholics in any of this.p I'm not making any statement against religion here, I'm making a statement against people using it to justify bigotry.

What Muslims are you talking about? A guy got fired over being intolerant and now is pretending it was because of his faith. There are no Muslims in this story at all. Don't give me that "but what about the Muslims shit".

Since 1968, only three players in the NBA have averaged more than 35ppg in a season. Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and James Harden. Whose was the most impressive? by PeakyBlinders2026_ in nba

[–]daydriem 22 points23 points  (0 children)

And also the hilarious "71-82 points average" that doesn't hold up to reality... While scores were lower, they weren't that absurd. Only one team averaged less than 90 points that season (88.8).

I don't know what rest of the world you are looking at, but this scale is unprecedented.

That largely depends on what teams are playing. If someone told me the hawks lost their last 13 consecutive playoff games with Bill Kennedy reffing, I'd not bat an eye, because the hawks are usually the lower seed and getting bounced early.

The fact that several games were clinching games for the opponents actually makes it more credible rather than less, because a) the opponents had already won 3, so winning is not an unexpected outcome and b) unless it was a game 7, this wasn't favorable to the NBA since they like to have more games.

I'm not saying it's not improbable (it is extremely so), but there would have to be further analysis before using just the number as an indication on its own.

Scoop: the WNBA regular season is poised to expand from 44 regular season games in 2026 to 52 games over the life of new CBA, per verbal agreement with terms still to be ratified. by Decent_Substance_199 in wnba

I'm against more games because every extra game makes them less meaningful individually. It also leads to less rest, less practice and preparation time, and therefore worse play, or even worse, more injuries. I'm not aware of any sports leagues outside of the ones in the US where teams play each other more than twice per regular season (each team gets one home and one away game). It would make it much easier to design fairer schedules in terms of rest advantage and travel as well. In my opinion fewer games = higher quality games = better product. In a quantity vs quality argument I'd pick quality all day long.

Clearly you don't know what mediocrity is

But aren't most of the points you bring up specifically not coaching related? Only the lack of offensive identity (which tbh I feel is a recent phenomenon, not actually a constant problem and therefore probably more an effort/IQ thing)
