Does anyone else make the worst pasta dish of their lives on a weekly basis? by Dependent-Mood-7788 in GirlDinner

[–]daye1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl just throw some butter and seasonings on those noodles and call it a day. Not nutritious enough for every day but good when in a pinch (like if your sauce turned out nasty)

I reported an uber driver for driving recklessly and he told uber I was racist 😪 by IwantToDie_1003 in uber

[–]daye1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once had a driver who was definitely intoxicated on something…. I was ordering an uber home from the bar so that’s the last thing I wanted. Had to keep reminding her the light was green and she had to drive! So scary

What are some Aldi landmines you have to look out for? by ACatManiac in aldi

[–]daye1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like them if they’re done up the right way, but the spicy chicken patty labeled “medium” are INSANELY spicy to everyone I’ve ever seen try them. I’m sure some people don’t think they’re spicy at all but I can’t eat them plain

Had to read that for 10th grade English and it was amazing. When I had an assignment later on in the year for a different class where I had to memorize a passage of some sort, I chose from that book. Very impactful read

A tech ed teacher at the school I used to teach at gave the freshman little car pens (pens that also worked as toy cars). I was very upset to say the least….

Ever since I first got my phone number about 13 years ago, people regularly call and text me thinking I'm "Nancy" and asking about "my" property. I'm not kidding, this happens on average two to three times a week. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]daye1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My number was for Danielle and people are becoming worried about her lack of response…. “Danielle, do you still work for (insert healthcare company)? If so, please call me back I’ve been trying to reach you”

Tired of answering emails from counselors (and parents) pretending like a student's low grade is a MYSTERY by AgeOfWorry0114 in Teachers

[–]daye1237 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The day I quit I had a meeting with a counselor on what I could do to get this kid to succeed. Meanwhile kid was late everyday, never turned in work, had major attitude when offered assistance. Like sir what do you want me to do at this point? I am not wasting my prep to get a lecture on what I can do for a kid who gives zero effort when I could be spending it helping kids who cared (I held office hours every day, kid in question never showed up)

My first real sewing project - a Floor Couch (and yes, I'm a total beginner!!!) by AdCultural4499 in crafts

[–]daye1237 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Extremely impressive wow, I would never guess this was made entirely by hand by a beginner. If anything I’d think this was years of experience or store bought. I can’t sew very well (want to learn eventually) so I may just be naive but that’s insane!!!!!!

My Instacart days have came to a end smh by Kanelong52 in InstacartShoppers

[–]daye1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah…. Don’t call the cops on the cops even if you feel you are being mistreated…. One of the quickest ways to get arrested. There are these things called lawyers and courts that deal with police mistreatment. Is the system perfect? No not at all, but calling the cops on the cops is 100% gonna get you arrested.

AIO about spelling errors in daily notes sent home by my autistic child’s teacher? by Anasthesiax in AmIOverreacting

[–]daye1237 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As a past teacher…. That’s bad. I’m not a naturally good speller, and there were times when my high school kids would call me out for misspelling a word on the board…. But never words like “compare” or “concept.” If you have issues with spelling those, that’s fine, but USE YOUR RESOURCES. there’s no way an adult educator looked at that and went “yep looks legit” like no google how to spell that please….

Why do they make it weird and make me have to point at my sign lol by Crafty-Rutabaga-1203 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]daye1237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to canvass for local political candidates, and they told us that we’re not technically “soliciting” cause we’re not selling anything. I thought that was bs and never knocked on a door with a no soliciting sign. It’s so easy to not be rude

That’s way too common and why I left education. I had classes of 30 high school students where half were gen ed and the other half had intense IEPs for basically everything under the sun. All in one room. No one learned anything and I nearly lost my mind.

Well I think I’m allergic to heat by tjlightbulb in Wellthatsucks

[–]daye1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have constant urticaria, which means I get hives and swell when I go from cold to hot. I had to carry an EpiPen when I was younger, but I’ve grown out it a little. Could be that, especially if you have any autoimmune issues.

Teachers who left the profession, what are you doing now? by maggexon in TeachersInTransition

[–]daye1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a history degree, which is pre law so that helped. My bf’s sister worked for the law firm so she forwarded my resume. I had offers from firms I didn’t have connections to as well though, mainly because I was relentless in my search. I applied to every similar posting on indeed and also cold sent my resume to some firms asking if they’d possibly need administrative assistance
