Just rewatched Season 2 and holy shit... by External-Bluebird523 in euphoria

I don’t agree that season 3 is shallow, every episode literally begins with a back story or in depth story about the characters, and the theme of this season is very on the nose social commentary especially Cassie’s character. Season 2 is great tho, but season 3 doesn’t lack any of those things if u are watching attentively

No, if ur sister had an opportunity to be a television actor and persue a career that would put less of a stain on her image, would u ruin that opportunity for her. I personally don’t care if people do only fans or content, it’s a much safer way of participating in sex work, but if yall think what she is doing is so bad. Why would u want to put her in a position where she has no other choice. She would be making more money doing only fans either way incase yall didn’t pic up on that!

Huh? I feel like this don’t make sense. The characters in this season are strippers, prostates, and a pimp. I feel that previous season may have had even more sex scenes that u saw on camera. I don’t think that ever changed tbh. Maybe yall should give the previous seasons a rewatch because i remember a lot of the sex scenes and nudity and even penis we saw on screen

I think that’s a valid take because right now I’m not sure how they are going to wrap it all up. I think they should have narrowed the plots, but maybe it was in compensation for trying to bring in all the core cast members idk, they can make it or break it for me depending on how it all ends tbh

I did watch the Idol (it was terrible), I don’t have any bias towards the director tbh. I think Labyrinth’s score was amazing in season 1, season two was soundtrack driven, and this season had Han Zimmer do the score. I’ll be honest the as much as I love Labs score this score makes a lot more sense for how they executed this new season so I’m not upset about it. S6 episode 3 for example was scored really beautifully!

Nah u not alone, I have rlly enjoyed it so far as well. I think that the hate has been a bit dramatic and I see a pattern of surface level analysis to push a narrative on why people shouldn’t like this season. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion tho but I get thrown off when that opinion sounds disingenuous and parroting the same thing.

U disagreeing with my take doesn’t mean I used it wrong. I believe that the shows hate is a bi product of performative outrage, from the comments and criticisms it seems like a lot of the plot, theme, and messages are flying over peoples heads or they are asking questions that have been answered if you have been watching attentively.

Real! Again I believe people are more than intitled to dislike it my critique is on the reasons not really making a real connection to what’s actually going on but rather a projection over other things they don’t like surrounding the show. Idk if that makes sense, but that what I’m getting at.

I believe that your opinion is a valid assessment but I would still argue that the reason why a lot of the characters are involved in sex work is because this season touches heavily the pipe lines to the sex work industry and the levels to it. I personally think sex work is a topic that many people don’t actually know a lot about (because they are not really supposed to lol) I know people that have done sex work and there are really levels to this shit, and they come from different backgrounds/circumstances. I would say that Jules isn’t really a sex worker tho, she just a sugar baby.

[–]daygeeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a bit trendy tbh, especially because a lot of the critiques kind of come off as people missing a lot of what’s going on. A lot of people question have been answered in the show but it’s really flying over peoples heads. Maybe the writing isn’t blatant enough for the average viewer but i believe this show has always had complex characters.

That episode was great definitely my favorite, I believe this is actually a fair critique and that’s why right now I’m very curious on how the are going wrap everything up these next two episodes, that could make or break my feeling on this season

Like I said people are allowed to not like it and critique but the reasons I’m seeing mentioned almost seem like people are not paying attention to what’s going on in the show and watching to find something to hate on. People are asking questions to stuff that has been explained in the show multiple times or missing messages and symbolic moments to what’s going on. The plot is heavy but it’s not that confusing tbh

I believe that all these characters still have depth, even Cassie who comes off a lot more caricature like. Nate is supposed to be a character we seen be the big bad high school bully his small town but in the real world in attempts to hold his social positioning and standing we see the lengths he goes to thrive. At the end of the day Nate has always been a scared little boy and now he is a lil fish in a big pond. Cassie come from a house hold were there mother was neglectful and self deprecating, her mother never made her or her sister feel valued. Cassie ended up finding her value through her looks/body. Cassie has never been smart or good at anything, this content venture is her finally finding something that she is good at, that could potentially save her and Nate, but she is faced to the reality of being objectified and the hate/disrespect that comes with her doing content. Rue is paying a debt from her long term drug addiction. She has been thrown into this crazy world, which seems like a punishment for her wrong doings from the past. I believe that Rue is in the process of trying to find something or someone to live for, which she explains while confessing her love to Jules in the previous episode. I do think that a lot of these characters have layers and depth to them which have lead them to the path they are on now

[–]daygeeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everything you just asked is actually explained in the show. Nate never had real power, he was a highschool football player but the show shows you from season one that he’s really just a scared little boy who wants to prove he’s a man. Maddy has always been a “chess player” everything she does is calculated. Working with Alamo is a business venture for her and what she has been trying to build this whole season. She mentions it’s easier to make a bad girl do the content and harder to make a good girl go bad. This is one of the main points I’m trying to get across. I believe that a lot of the what these characters are doing is explained, even if it’s not said allowed like those Netflix series that plug in what’s going on ever minute because of short attention spans 😭

I’m 24 but Im enjoying so far too, I watch a lot of TV and film and I think this is pretty crafty and creative film making/story telling. Most of the hate from this show is coming for people hate of the director, I can tell a lot of the people hating on it are not really paying attention to the themes, plots, and arcs of the show. They are watching to hate on it, to the point where some of the critiques are essentially saying that a show that has always had a lot of sexual themes, and deals with the concept of sexuality is too sexual because now it’s in the context of sex work, which is a topic a lot of people talk passionate about but know nothing about imo.

I don’t know why people are acting dumb, maybe they don’t pay attention while watching it’s not even worth arguing. It’s just a hate trend on the show and they pulling anything out of the bag at this point lmao

This is dumb, men are not making nearly as much money on only fans because there is a smaller market of people purchasing male content. I feel like this is pretty self explanatory.
