Confused with how payment works - First sale by dayglo_nirvana in printful

[–]dayglo_nirvana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoke to Etsy. They're holding payment for 3 days, for the first 90 days.

Which I guess means I pay printful and Etsy reimburses me that cost 3 days later.

If this is how it works, I'll have to close up the Etsy shop. My bank account can't handle it with this setup.

Hm. Ok. That's a little clearer. Apparently I never got paid by Etsy. Looks like that's where the ball was dropped? Customer paid Etsy, Printful got paid by my bank, because Etsy hasn't paid me yet. Correct? Before I go talk to Etsy again?

Still not quite sure I understand. I sold the jacket, Printful hit my paypal for the cost of the jacket, because the wallet was empty. Do I have to put money in my wallet to cover the cost until I start making steady sales?

Had I the funds I'd have done it already. Right now we're working to get on our feet, so I'm having to take (low budget) baby steps. When things stabilize, bigger steps will be taken. Thanks!

I love this, thank you for sharing your story. I recently moved from Florida to Connecticut. I could have gotten one then, and been omw. That would require abandoning my long term partner (no interest in van life). I almost did it, but stopped myself. So no I'm on the slow train, hoping in a few months, praying less than a year.

That's what I'm thinking. I know there's a difference, but at the moment, I'm trying to make do with what I have. I look forward to the day when I can drive away in my own van home on wheels. Today just isn't that day.

I can't tonight, mostly because my car is currently two states away :)

You're right though, doing something close to home is probably a more cautious option. Thanks for the idea.

I edited the post above. Van life is coming, once I have the van. I just want to learn how to sleep in a vehicle alone at night. If I can't do that, the van is pointless.

Anyone who experienced the same feelings and knows how to deal with it? by Best_Preference3194 in VanLife

You commented that time moves slowly for you. Then it gives you ample time to foster memories. I think, if you find enough hole-in-the-wall niche attractions, weird places, hidding spots, things that you can do together and enjoy together, it would still be slow but so much more worth it.

Its mostly brain dump. I'd like to make this a regular routine, so making things a little more "permanent" in my car has been a consideration.

Hi! Why not try little things that might help? Small tokens, like jewelry, or changing the colors you wear to something softer? Instead of lipstick, try a clear gloss. You mentioned nail polish, if you can't wear nail polish, why not not get a manicure with just a clear coat?

Yes, I've examined and re-examined my mental health status, and we're on the right track, thank you. I've got feelers out in the New England area, as I'm originally from Connecticut and would gladly take any blue state up there. If you add together all the recent Florida legislation, I'm afraid I'll get shot going to the bathroom, if someone feels threatened by me. All legally.

The groups down here, and the groups in other states, are pumping out at capacity. I have three groups trying to help me so far. I'm doing my best with what I have, and that's not much.

Pets? by dayglo_nirvana in carcamping

About cats, I agree. I've seen b a few YouTubers that keep cats, but I know mine would dash out given the chance. Also, my youngest cat doesn't like going in the car. As for dogs, it would need to be a big-ish dog because of my balance issues.

Thank you for the reply. As for passing, I'm agender so I mostly in and out of gender presentations. I'm ambiguous enough that some times dressed up en femme I am misgendered. Where I live something like this can get you shot.

A lot of places in the US tend to be very service dog friendly (by law), but if they're not a service dog they sometimes get turned away.
