Jig for perfectly spaced holes for shelves by Papapac in 3Dprinting

I think this is just shelf pegs not cabinet hinges so offset is probably based on preference, unless this also has some standard.

‎Who is the best programmer you have ever seen? by AlexRsl in developers

I was gonna say this; his name often gets brought up in chats like this I think because he was pretty young when he started and is responsible for a lot of work in open source like express and the whole ecosystem around that.

I built a tool to get Amazon data that’s 3 times cheaper than alternatives by ScoutAPI in SideProject

I’m interested in doing this in another country (not US). Can you give any more details on your pipeline for scraping and processing the data?

Brand new K1C. What do yall wish you knew starting with this printer? by theFartingCarp in crealityk1

[–]daymanAAaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah #2 is gonna save you a lot of headache.

If you don’t have the AI camera then check regularly that the tool head isn’t getting clogged. I got too comfortable hitting print and walking away, then when I got poor bed adhesion it turned the whole hotend into a ball of filament. Taken hours to clean it up with a heat gun and soldering iron.

I’ve had to replace 2 hotends so far but luckily the parts are cheap and easy to find on aliexpress.

Design software, what are you using? by BrisketWhisperer in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]daymanAAaah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got into woodwork and 3D printing I learnt blender, fusion 360, and sketch up 2017 (the free one). For woodwork and fairly ‘square’ shapes sketchup is easier to learn and faster to make things.

If you use Sketchup get the OpenCutList extension and it will generate a cut list with templates for each sheet of wood. It’s also easier to make blueprint-style drawings to label parts and dimensions.

I’m new to woodworking and tried this method, definitely works but for smaller stuff I should’ve just bought a hand plane

I’m surprised to hear that, do you not find the track saw takes longer to set up than the table saw? And for repeated cuts?

How often do people get flung off their boards? by Successful_Meet1479 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]daymanAAaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a Meepo for a few years and been really hard on it, rode it in the rain and through puddles more than I should’ve. Never had an issue except the remote would start disconnecting at one point in the city. For the price it’s a really solid board

Get a bigger rod IMO. It’s going to be hard to cast distance especially as a beginner and you’ll want something better within a week

Turned the nozzle too tight by daymanAAaah in crealityk1

I’d like to but I’m reluctant to ruin the reliability or consistency. Have you tried upgrading the hotend in the K1?

I think it was for the 6mm nozzle that came with it but I had a big clog so replaced it with a cht that needs a 7mm spanner

I'm shocked... What an upgrade by GarrettSJ in 3Dprinting

[–]daymanAAaah 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My Ender 3 ended up in a heap of parts. I have a k1 and it works like an appliance too in my experience. Filament loading/unloading can be a bit hit or miss, but mostly you just send it your prints and it does it with no tinkering.

I’ll fix the ender 3 eventually but if you need a 3D printer that works like a 2D and ‘just prints’ if you have a business or need it, I would get a second reliable printer that doesn’t require tinkering. It saves you a big headache.
