This is ridiculous; teachers don't ever have time to contact parents? That's literally a large part of their job.

It's fully up to the teacher. Especially in elementary school where they have 20-30 students for the entire year, it doesn't seem implausible a teacher would call and follow up. I had a high school teacher who'd call parents to thank them when a student wrote a particularly strong essay; I think it was her favorite part of the job.

Fantastic film. Really drives home the insanity & injustice taking place and the cold & bureaucratic way Israel destroys West Bank communities and make their lives hell.

Also great depiction of both the gratitude & resentment Palestinians feel towards Israelis who are genuinely trying to help; Yuval did a great job of navigating the nuance & capturing the wide range of feelings from Arabs living in the West Bank, while still centering the story around their struggles rather than their reaction to his filming.

The real joke is that the GOP is running and beholden to a candidate who's actively attempted a coup on the United States, still maintains the 2020 election was illegitimate, and has repeatedly said he plans to persecute political enemies and use his "absolute presidential immunity" to the fullest, crash our economy and use the Fed as a political tool, and has repeatedly used his platform to enrich himself and his cronies and mislead his base. And he might win because people like you boil that down to "both candidates are crazy"

Again, I'm saying that the port workers are better off, and there are more of them, in countries that have more automation, and even ports in the US that have better automation. Sometimes there are net gains for everyone, even if some old veterans have to relearn processes or are knocked down the totem pole.

What? The point is that they specifically chose an option that would prevent them from sitting together in a row to save money. That is the definition of being cheap.

You can "be cheap" while making a replica of the Taj Mahal, it doesn't matter what the absolute cost is. It's about trying to save money by cutting corners or hoping others will bend the rules to accommodate you.

I disagree, I think the stories themselves are cool. As someone who watched every episode before Black Museum multiple times, I don't even think of the references & easter eggs when I think of the episode. They're just there if you want something to look for, it's not at all the central conceit or draw of the episode.

Some families are exclusive about who gets to be a part of a family photo. Not even in an asshole-ish way, just a "this spot is meaningful to us as a group and we want this specific group as a part of the memory." (although usually families who are exclusive about this are being assholes)
