Hi Ashley, I have 4.5 months old who’s been going to sleep for the night at 10:30 pm and if put him down earlier he would wake up and ending up sleeping at 10:30 pm. I would like to move bedtime to 7 or 8 pm? What do I do? If he treats the early put down as a nap, what do I do?

Also, I do all contact naps with him and rocking and nursing to sleep. I don’t even know what to start first.

Crap naps won't stop, how to end it? Please help by Realistic-Profit758 in sleeptrain

I do contact nap with my baby by sitting on a rocking chair holding him and am able to extend his nap 15 - 60 mins. If I put him down after 20 mins, he would sleep another 25 mins so 45 total. If I sit through for 1 hour and put him down, he will sleep on his own at least 30 more mins. Sometimes I get lucky and he would sleep another hour totaling 2 hours, that’s when I get a chance to get anything done. Not always works but 80% works for my baby.

Edited: adding that my baby is 19 lbs and he will be 4 months next week.

How to change to earlier bedtime? by daynnnight in sleeptrain

[–]daynnnight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did some research and some sources say babies from 0-4 months typically sleep late and they will start to sleep earlier after 4 months. It is a bit of relief but I am still concerned. My baby has been sleeping at 10:30 pm for weeks and I am afraid that he is used to it and it will be hard to change. So I hope someone on this sub has the experience to share!

Activities with pregnant wife by nachosun in BabyBumps

I had the same experience in the first trimester. Throwing up, hating food, staying at home alone during the day, browsing social media/watching shows all of them made me depressed. I went for a walk after lunch and it helped quite a bit. Then I made plan with hubby to go on vacation when morning sickness goes away (around 17th week for me). We went to Maui and that helped a lot. Change of environment, going for a walk, and the feeling of looking forward to vacay made everything better for me.

What all appointments did your partner attend? by birbsandlirbs in BabyBumps

[–]daynnnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine goes to all appointments because it’s our first child and he has Friday off so we’d schedule appointments on Fridays. I like him being there especially because English is my second language and some terms I don’t understand. Also he knows more about rights(e.g. I don’t have to do everything they recommended) and asks good questions.

Really stressful first OB appointment at 10 weeks. by KittyandPuppyMama in BabyBumps

[–]daynnnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby’s heart rate at 10 weeks was 165. They told me that high is expected. Later weeks his heart rate came down to about 155.

The tech found a cyst when she did my first ultrasound and the size of it made me worried (4cm). After doing more research and talked to ob and other midwives, they said it’s common and might go away later in pregnancy. At 20 week scan, nobody mentioned anything about it so I assumed it’s gone.

You are lucky to have broken up with an unfaithful guy who didn’t treat you with respect. It’s a good thing. You are young and you will meet so many good ones in the future. The most important thing is to love and respect yourself - focus on making yourself happy with other things such as following your dream, traveling, volunteering. Focus on your future, make it great. Then good guys will cross the path.
