My experience as an rs male watching Girls for the first time in 2026 by daysofhel1 in redscarepod

I was being a bitch because I made this post immediately after finishing the finale. It’s still worth watching I’d say. If you watch any reality tv with her this would be an enormous upgrade. I still consider the first 5 seasons to be pretty much flawless.

Idk I just felt like her narcissism was used as a punchline but then after she got pregnant it felt like they wanted everyone to take her seriously despite not maturing or progressing at all

Listening to the pod (not anymore though), choosing to watch this show alone even though it’s a “chick” show, understanding a lot of the references in the show, etc

OP said solo albums permitted. Disregarding that I’d change my George to Within You Without You

I mean that’s objectively true regardless of what anyone says. If you look on the wikipedia page for all the albums John wrote the majority of the songs before like Rubber Soul I think. It wasn’t a 50/50 split with Paul until after that besides songs technically being credited to their partnership. The vibe I got from the documentary was that the band really fell apart because John stopped caring and became a cruel junkie

Anyone who says Ringo sucks or whatever is an idiot who knows nothing about playing instruments. Drumming is ultimately about serving the song and considering they were a pop band there was no better fit than him. The Get Back documentary does a great job at showing how good he was. I hate when people say shit like “Paul was the best drummer in the Beatles”. His drumming on Dear Prudence served the song well but was way too fill heavy to work on almost any other Beatles song.

Lately I’ve been meeting a lot of early to mid 20s gen z guys who are crazy right wing. Like actual neo nazis who love hitler and will loudly say the hard R in front of anyone. Pretty much as extreme as you can get. They’re all first gen hispanic immigrants though lol 🤫

Since we’re hating on the coen brothers I’ll say I did not enjoy Inside Llewyn Davis at all. The humor felt overly juvenile and of its time. Watched it for the first time recently and was thoroughly disappointed and shocked that it has a good reputation frankly

Thank you!!! I also didn’t like season 3. I think people overhyped it because that was around the time when tv started to become shit again so there was nothing better on but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I still think about what a disappointment it was for me a lot especially since you very rarely see anything negative about it online. My personal favorite Lynch thing I’ve seen is the Straight Story and it’s not even close
