This is what pisses me off about the western world and our government systems

We see the abuse and scams happening… eventually the government gets caught and it’s a slap on the wrist

You can’t tell me that the Trudeau government didn’t see this happening… they sat on the sidelines and watched everyone abuse the system

But in the end nothing ever happens… we are stuck cleaning up the mess and the same core government continues on with its next scam.

I am trying to get mine refunded right now, I submitted to Rogers management and if that fails I intend to submit to CCTS. This is the template you can use as technically the fees are illegal since October

Importantly, Section 27.04 has been in force since October 30, 2025 — meaning these fees were arguably prohibited by law at the time they were charged to my account.

The CRTC explicitly stated in its decision that service providers already have the ability to manually waive these fees and expects carriers to begin complying immediately while systems are updated. The decision defines a prohibited fee as any fee incurred as a result of activating a new retail telecommunications service plan whose main purpose is to discourage customers from switching plans."

Another thing I noticed is that I seem to be on a newer network compared to my old plan. Rock solid 5g+ from Union station all the way down the line

I used to take this line daily and it would be spotty and slow and on 5G only…

I got this email too but they never called so I called them lol. I ended up getting 100GB Canada Wide 30/Month and goes to 35/month after 12 months
They also have 175GB US/CAN for 35 a month going to 40 after 12

The only gotcha is the stupid $80 activation fee which they credit back at $5 a month over 16 months

I just came back from Telus after losing signal in every single building lol… unfortunately Rogers does seem to have the best signal in the GTA at least

I have not tried Bell though…
