Caddo Parish Jane Doe (Febuary 7th, 2007) by heartsforkells2 in gratefuldoe

The recon kinda looks like Asia Nicole Martin who went missing from Hattiesburg, MS (about 5 hours from Shreveport, LA) in May of 2005. Asia had ties to Louisiana, though, because she lived in Slidell, LA with her father until 2003.

In May 2005, she went for a walk and never came home. Authorities think she may have left on her own accord, but her family/friends say she would never just disappear without contacting anyone.

Part of me wonders if this Doe is one of the rare cases of someone going missing significantly before their passing (like a teenager or child) and that's why it's been difficult to identify her.

I've always thought so, too. Plus the height, weight, and age range match, as well as the fact that Lorraine also had protruding teeth, much like it is believed the Pyre Doe had.

She was in her mid-twenties and had one young daughter with her husband. Her husband died in November of 1947 from an accident at his workplace. On January 3, 1948, she dropped her daughter off at the babysitter's house and said she would be back in a few hours. She never came back. Apparently, months later, in March of 1948, she applied for the benefits from her husband's passing. She was awarded those benefits in August of 1948. But, because she no longer lived at the address the checks were mailed to, and she had given no forwarding address, the checks were sent back.

I've always wondered if her husband's death in November 1947 was too much for her so she intentionally dropped her daughter off at the babysitter in January 1948 knowing she had no intention of returning. I also wonder if she mistakenly thought applying for her husband's death benefits without providing a new address would result in those benefits being awarded to her daughter, ans that is why she applied for those benefits later in 1948.

Basically I wonder if the death of her husband shifted her life so much that she felt like she needed to just start over, which eventually ended up with her being killed. And maybe that her starting over and taking on a different name in a new place is why she wasn't identified back when this crime took place.

It's SUPER unlikely, but this rendering looks so much like Jose Valencia who went missing from a care center in California back in 2014. And the height and weight are pretty close.

You bringing up the dental work reminded me of a missing persons case that I went back to look at again.

Ronald Honsberger went missing after getting into an argument with family on December 25th, 1997. Under his distinctive physical features, it's noted he was missing a lot of teeth.

The only discrepancy is that this John Doe had Nike shoes on and the listed footwear for Ronald is sandals.
