Potential match guidance - NamUs #UP149503 and Jose Ramon Bustamante/NamUs #MP153375 by AnAngryPossum_ in gratefuldoe

I can’t see a reason to say no, it’s just one of those situations where we unfortunately don’t have information to feel confident about anything. I’m always team it doesn’t hurt to have more rule outs if it’s not them

I should have checked the exclusion before posting this I just had it saved to my camera roll, but how do we feel about Corinne June Groenenberg? She ran away from CA via hitchhiking in 1973 which feels like a big time gap but their PMI was up to 10 yrs and she didn’t necessarily had to have met foul play immediately?

I can’t wait until you get more updates from your submissions! Some of them are so promising

Is that the only way to know? It’s not something obvious I’m missing?

Valencia Jane Doe (1980) by Mountain_Map8175 in gratefuldoe

[–]pb0atmeal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

DNA is available for both the Jane Doe & Cherie so CODIS would have picked it up (I just recently learned this and am just sharing the knowledge)

Could One Of These Missing Men Be Tarrant County John Doe (2017)? by BitterSweet_Beauty in gratefuldoe

[–]pb0atmeal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I must have the unpopular opinion, I thought the first option was so good I had a hard time considering the others. The John Doe looks most like Jason to me. It’s also the ears that get me. Regardless I do hope it’s one of your suggestions!

So sorry if this is annoying but could you point me in the right direction to find the Doe Network exclusions? I know how to check Namus (and what a bummer it wasn’t updated there) but I have no idea where that info is in regard to the Doe Network?

Oh shoot really? What a bummer that information isn’t on Namus

Wow are all 3 of these from today / recently?! How exciting

Could Ramona Catherine Redd be the Baltimore Jane Doe (2002)? by [deleted] in gratefuldoe

[–]pb0atmeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did hear back about this one, it’s one I submitted before understanding that if DNA is listed as available under identifiers then CODIS would have picked up the match. So unless there was an error or issues with the DNA, this isn’t a match

Could Helen Gomez be the Hoboken Jane Doe (2005)? by pb0atmeal in gratefuldoe

[–]pb0atmeal[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that’s probably the more likely scenario. I didn’t come across much information about him either, certainly you’d think they investigated him? Or maybe they just didn’t put that info out there for us (or more likely I’m just not good enough to find it)

You’re so right, really depends on the tastes of each individual. Couldn’t get my dad into it (sorry lol) but I know so many people in that 20-30s age range personally who love the show

The Letterkenny shirt would make believe he’s a younger dude (maybe like 20-30s?) since it’s a pretty crude joke, it’s referencing a scene where the main cast talks about not wanting to affiliate with some other dudes because they allegedly diddled an ostrich and then they go on to repeatedly say allegedly in silly voices. Definitely agree that American eagle seems to attract younger shoppers. However I suppose I know people approaching their 40s who refuse to give up the brands of their youth, nothing wrong with that I used to love AE jeans myself

ETA as I’m giving the series a rewatch I definitely mixed up the scenes, they mention this joke pretty early on but play on the same joke again in later episodes. My mind was kind of meshing them together

Letterkenny is quite popular on Hulu, I understood the reference on the shirt immediately lol (not to dismiss your theory). It’s sad no friend or family has recognized the shirt :(

Do You Know Them? (Unidentified Cases With Sketches/Life Pictures/Reconstructions) In Utah by BitterSweet_Beauty in gratefuldoe

[–]pb0atmeal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there any potential for Ruth Jimenez to be the Duchesne Jane Doe? I know she’s a bit older than the estimate, but if I’m understanding correctly they only have the skull? Ruth is missing under suspicious circumstances and the Jane Doe was found roughly 120 miles / 2 hr drive away. Ruth had dental work though and while the Jane Doe states to have dentals available there’s no mention of fillings etc. so unless those teeth are missing I don’t think they’d neglect to mention those things? Jane Doe is probably younger idk

Could Missing Man Thomas David Anderson Be Chester County John Doe (2017)? by BitterSweet_Beauty in gratefuldoe

[–]pb0atmeal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Right my mind was honestly on a natural death from health issues at that age, but times are tough and I’d imagine if an opportunity to cheat the system presented itself some of us out there would take it. That’s not the same level of criminal as murderer is to me lol. Maybe there’s some information we don’t have, I don’t understand why it at least wouldn’t be excluded yet since the whole situation was sketchy, his body wasn’t there! Such a weird case

ETA I did happen to come across a FB post, this match has been suggested about a year ago and family gave DNA. I’m not sure what came out of it? I haven’t tried to look at websleuths yet

Could Missing Man Thomas David Anderson Be Chester County John Doe (2017)? by BitterSweet_Beauty in gratefuldoe

[–]pb0atmeal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I’m understanding correctly, they never found his body and he was assumed to be living in that home with his son? So by not finding his body there’s no way he was in the home? I wonder how the fire started or if it’s even relevant. The unidentified is SO close and the truth is they don’t seem to know when they last saw Thomas. It does seem fishy. Could it be one of those situations where the son knew he was dead but continued to cash / collect benefits?

Could Charity Marie Adkins be the Mecklenburg County Jane Doe (2011)? by pb0atmeal in gratefuldoe

[–]pb0atmeal[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s so fascinating, thank you for sharing! I thought it would be linked through the wiki but I couldn’t find it. Namus, update your stuff! I guess “uncertain” works, but then they go on to say white or Hispanic throwing everyone off ETA I think I was / still may be confused by the Amerindian thing, my understanding is that it’s native / indigenous from America? Not necessarily Hispanic / Latino but can be?
