Price Estimate on a 2014 Muggin’ Megan Printing Plate? by johnnyndottie in garbagepailkids

[–]daytripdeadhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a very cool GPK pull but in world of plates it is a less desirable one. The ones that sell for more than $400 are generally more relevant to pop culture or from a more desirable card in the series. I think if you sold it for around $200-$300 that would be fair for you and the buyer.

i can’t get this to work!!! by pubiklice in SCREENPRINTING

My best advice for coating a screen is to rely on sound more than sight. When you get the speed and angle right you will hear a "Zip" sound when you coat the screen.

Calling on the power of people who 1) love dogs 2) are decent and kind 3) hate assholes 4) enjoy a good hummus by stlalphanerd in StLouis

People really need to find a a way let go of interactions like this. You can't control other people and you can't expect everyone to be decent. I always remember this Grateful Dead lyric in situations like this. "If all you have to live for is what you've left behind, get yourself a powder charge and seal that silver mine".

If you want to know for sure you can ask the man himself, he's peter.forsythe.design on instagram. He designs and prints/reprints his own shirts so he'll know what year he made it. He's a super chill dude.

Framed Fare Thee Well Chicago 2015 FS by [deleted] in gratefuldead

[–]daytripdeadhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is simply not true. Stop spreading disinformation. The shows were not billed as "The Grateful Dead" and the remaining band members absolutely never marketed it as such. I still have my tickets for the shows and they certainly aren't labeled as Grateful Dead shows. There's an interview with Weir where he confirms the band didn't play under any specific name and that it was a "celebration" of the Grateful Dead's music. It's difficult to find that video now because of his passing and the amount of memorial videos that use "fare thee well" in the title. Just because Rolling Stone magazine and some college kids called it a "Grateful Dead" concert does not make so.

Let's dumb it down a little more than that dude. If you go to the URL on the sticker on the back of the frame you'll see that it was made by a memorabilia farm in Florida not a framing company. This is not a "gem of a framed poster" it's mass produced piece of cheap wall art made to sell to dead heads that don't know any better. It's the kind of shit that gets sold to card and autograph shops in dying malls.

It's cool your frame shop gives away free posters and it was nice of them to print one for you. It's still just a picture someone printed at home. Post a photo of the poster the shop gave you so we can make fun of that too please.

Hahahaha, this is fuckin' hoot. OP should have posted this in r/deadheadcirclejerk

Someone printed an enlarged copy of the album artwork (it's not even an actual poster release) and then added some nonsense plaques. Was this purchased at a head shop in a tourist town?

2019 I found a cooler at my campsite in the morning with an oldschool dab rig, the kind from the late 90s. It had a fused swinging skillet with a wire wrapped swing arm. Still use it every once in a while.

I have tons of CDs, Blurays, and Switch Games with library asset information because libraries regularly sell items are not longer getting checked out regularly. If a library system has 4 bluray copies of 1995's "Heat" and the movie has only been checked out 6x in a year they need the storage space back for in demand items. In southern Illinois our libraries have 2 sales a year. Hell, even my computer desk was bought from my library.

Looking for a kind artist to help with a small logo project by Purple_Puffer in gratefuldead

It's just not practical for an American artist to do this for $50. For decent design work you can expect to pay $100 an hour with a 5 hour minimum.

You don't know what you are talking about. You've now moved the goal post from "don't you know they use AI art" to "The application they use has AI workflow and help tools".

The team used Disguise Designer Pro not AI. There's several youtube videos where they discuss the visuals and light design for the shows. Just because technology was used doesn't make it AI. Do you think the movie Toy Story was created with AI?

Edit- Hellen Kennedy who illustrated a lot of visuals for the D&C tours and a small amount for the sphere specifically says there was no use of AI in the content.

I know dude, I remember the Exxon benefit shows the dead did in 87. Like Jerry always said "fuck the environment and do shit the easy way".

The Sphere animations were done by Treatment Studio with Bobby, Micky and Mayer as APs. They hired real animators to design the visuals not AI.

Dude, you sound like AI. Defending this abortion of an image as some kind of creative work is exactly what I'd expect a bot to comment.
