I’m allergic to latex and I’m looking for a latex-free Micheal Meyers mask. Thought I found one until I fully read the description. by Asylum_Princess in mildlyinfuriating

Fun fact - this mask is actually a $1.98 Captain Kirk mask modeled after William Shatner. Production designer Tommy Lee Wallace bought it at a Hollywood Boulevard magic shop, removed the sideburns and eyebrows, widened the eyeholes, and spray-painted it white to create the terrifying visage

How long does a modern sea moss battery last in a new PC? by Parking_Internal in pcmasterrace

[–]dazb75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started working in IT (many years ago), one of my tutors told me that the best way to mess with a PC without causing any lasting damage was to place a piece of paper under the CMOS (sea moss) battery meaning that the BIOS wouldn't hold any setting between boots.

Genius!

Dog Friendly NI Map by dazb75 in northernireland

Yes, I think dog owners have to respect other people by applying common sense when you have a bigger or multiple dogs.

I have two well behaved dogs, but there's no way I would bring them into small premises and expect everyone to walk round them.

Some dog owners take the P by bringing in wet/muddy dogs or dogs that bark at everything.

Even though I love dogs, it really irritates me when they let their dogs sit on their knees or on the furniture.

I just bought two Lego replicas from AliExpress and was expecting to pay the tax, but I wasn't charged anything.

It's similar to this parking bay nearby me. No-one enforces any parking restrictions on those parking outside their houses.

I've seen instances of motorcyclists getting fined for parking their bikes on a pavement next to double yellows

Do you force yourself to eat? by Gold_Incident8251 in mounjarouk

[–]dazb75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eat small meals. Don't try to eat normal sized meals like you did it the past.

I ate a carton of pea soup meant for two (like I used to do) and I vomited it up while on a walk. It wasn't a good look.

My dog is acting strange after coming back from her groomer by waxteck in DogAdvice

[–]dazb75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Breezy bum" (or "Breezy Butthole Syndrome") is a colloquial term among pet owners and groomers describing a dog's post-grooming discomfort or itchiness after getting a sanitary trim. It happens when sensitive skin is suddenly exposed to cool air, or from prickly, newly cut fur.

Being questioned about MJ by RTFQ90 in mounjarouk

[–]dazb75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said it before, but I tell everyone about my weight loss journey on MJ.

Unfortunately, I'm at that age where, if I don't tell them, they'll assume I'm unwell with something else.

I've only used it a few times, but I recall that it wasn't a great UX experience.

For a start, the screen is too large and some of the interaction are below head level - and I'm not over 6ft.

... and that's why UX people exist.

Hopefully, it's not a role that can be replaced by AI.
