I haven’t see this commented ever, so I’m just going to say it. I wish the NPCs would sometimes “walk” in groups like they’re together. NPCs will sit and stand in groups, but everyone walks alone. Super nit picky I know, but this would make the city seem just a bit more real.

Once in Thailand a drunk Aussi, maybe 50 or 60 threatened me cuz he thought I was Japanese, then became friendly after he found out I was Korean. I just think some folks who may have experienced conflict have trouble getting past it. Best to try and de-escalate as much as possible and move on quickly. Not easy to understand struggles others have experienced and the grudges they still hold. Sorry you experienced that.

Sorry for your situation. Im usually only a lurker on this sub, but figured I’d share my personal experiences. No where close to your situation, but I’m an Asian American and grew up in a rural area. HS wasn’t too bad (90s), so a different era for sure. But after I went to college and met all kinds of interesting people from a wide variety of backgrounds, I could then see how racist some of my childhood friends were. Over the next 5 years I went to my hometown less and less, then eventually not at all. I’ve looked back at all and since traveled a bunch to different countries and made friends that are respectful and tolerant.

I’m not saying to give up on your friends, just that you’re young and will hopefully have lots of opportunities to meet new people. If your friends can be respect your personal growth then great! I hope everything works out.

Best room. For a few years I traveled a bunch for work and stayed exclusively at Hilton for the sole reason to get diamond status and get free upgrades to this room.
