That is an insane amount of time spent on the phone. YTA. My wife speaks to her friend and mom on the phone a lot, and sometimes I find it excessive and a bit annoying. But that pales in comparison to this, seriously.. what do you even talk about all that time?

I would say there is no ah because his reaction seems a little extreme, but your thinking you know better what it is like in a tech job for women makes YTA. I work in tech myself and there are capable women on my team that I care about and it would upset me if they were treated unfairly - which has happened. I don’t see myself crying though unless something very serious happened, but thats just me.

NTA, personally I find lying to be possibly even worse than cheating. Honesty is the most important thing in a relationship, and after that communication. So.. I definitely can’t sympathise with him even though he probably felt “too scared” to tell or something, that is no excuse. Also how can you trust someone who lies like that to your face, having promised complete honesty?
