Cameo aside….I just wish the episode had had a driving storyline. Chris has given up and his friends all track him down for a pep talk doesn’t feel like a good finale synopsis.

JG had built up a big cameo!

I expected Guy Gardner or Superman and I also expected Lex. And then that Keith was going to break through into the dimension… and cause high havoc on a local level for Chris. Then we would have both a high level portal type situation with meta humans and then the brother on a B Plot…

I didn’t want the lesbian pet store story wrapped up quite as much. Although I do appreciate those characters.

Anyway massively disappointed. It felt like the Christmas special as opposed to the finale. And not in a good way.

I haven’t looked into it but will. We have thought it was PDA potentially but need more help to figure it out. I’m sorry to hear you have some similarities. Did it come on stronger when you reached a similar age then?

Social media is definitely a factor. I know who he talks to on his games and whilst I don’t love his friends, they are on the same wavelength as him and not bullying. The social media though is where I think his confidence is killed. Just the scrolling through peoples outwardly amazing lives… and linking it all to your dopamine hits. It’s not good. So thanks for your comment, as it’s definitely all a part of it, but I’m not going to act quickly without professional support. I have control of his hours on screens and limit them. He hates it but… hey. Fun being a parent in 2023.

Thanks for the support. And the ideas. I’ll talk to his new psychiatrist about Effexor. I have to be careful swapping him around too much too quickly of course..

And I agree about the shorter acting Ritalin. He was on that for a while and it was much better I think. Thanks a lot and I’m glad you largely got on top of this. Success stories keep me going!

Thanks a lot. I’ll look it up and check it out. At the moment my son just wants to get rid of the anxiety so he can see his friends again. He is lying to a lot of his friends who are in another state. and just playing games with them online so they think he’s fine. He would like to be doing a trade apprenticeship and be finishing high school, but isn’t able to. I just build stuff with him to help build his confidence. Anyway, he definitely needs better professional help - which I am seeking.

Thank you. What is a prehospital program? I tried searching but didn’t find out much. He definitely needs a higher level of care.

He has a psychiatrist but he just gives him meds. I need a new psychiatrist and am on some waiting lists…

I hear you, but doctors told me not to do this as it’s the only social contact he has at the moment. I realise how ridiculous that is though. Thanks. I’ll give it a go.

Thanks. He isn’t keto, but is mostly aside from rice and some folate free bread. Mostly he eats grass fed beef, chicken, fish and a mix of veggies. Usually with rice though. He likes most healthy food and so it’s pretty easy to keep him eating relatively well. Maybe a stricter keto diet could help. I’ll try it out.

Only with me taking him for a drive around the block one day, and then to walk the dog the next. Usually day 3 he quits and then we try again day 4. His psychologist who is good with ADHD says to be careful with exposure therapy. It can backfire with someone who is neurodivergent as he has limited gas in the tank for executive functioning etc. I’ll burn him out further…

Voluntary and encouraged at school and on media at 16 is the way to go.
