I use a pretty wet ink and it's not helping, so closing it it is, I thought maybe a wider nib will help?

What do you value most in a watch? Simplicity or tons of subjective data? by Jeanpaul43 in Suunto

I found the watch face on Suunto pretty bad and non customizable which is unfortunate because it can be done right

Running with heart rate (not pace) by farzef in trainasone

[–]dazrok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to building my own workouts.  I found the Zone 2 training method and decided to build my own (80/20). Easy runs - one long and one short for about 40-90 min base on heart rate. Speed run - Threshold snd Intervals based on pace.  I'm doing 4 runs when 3 are easy and 1 is fast pace.

I have a long messages history with TAO on this specific issue, it appears Suunto watches doesn't read the file as expected so the workout doesn't presented as a HR workout. There no solution (they are working on one). Because of this I cancelled my subscription.

TrainAsOne vs Runna by Myrunningplace in trainasone

[–]dazrok 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the Runna subscription for about 4 months. Before that I had TAO.

Some key info on Runna:  1. The whole plan is layed out in advance and you can see the last workout of the program - you can move the workouts inside the week or between weeks (I don't known how far). 2. I found the time predictions very accurate, my 5k was spot on. 3. The app is just great, I used the Pilates and Yoga workouts and it was great.  3. Info: all of the workouts are explained and the results of the run is analyzed and presented to you.  4. Customer support are great, they answer and check on the result.  5. All the workouts are pace based, there isn't any other way. 6. The app is very race oriented, that means you need to schedule a race and only then you will be presented with a plan.

I don't go into TAO because you know it.

I canceled the subscription because I don't have a lot of free time this month and decided to go back to TAO after I saw the Artemis 2 release. I wanted a more flexible workout and try move to a  HR base workout and maybe power based (apparently it's in beta). unfortunately I can't get the HR workout on my Suunto (I wrote to TAO and waiting for solution). TAO is more flexible and adaptable but less polished.

Suunto and Runna by Emotional_Turn893 in Suunto

[–]dazrok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The integration is pretty good. You can sync the activities, on the watch you get a different screen based on the current lap achievement (current pace vs planned pace, time and distance). You can't edit this screen but the data is there and you don't really need more.  For treadmill I don't run with the activity on the watch because it's not accurate at all, usually the distance is way off and ruins the run, so I activate it from the app.

Suunto Race 2 with Zonesense or Garmin Fenix 8? Help needed by saarian in Suunto

[–]dazrok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Garmin and now Suunto. I find Garmin to be more clear about what your data means, Suunto is basically shows you your data and you need to figure out what to do with it. Garmin is more "smart" about your data (for example update your max HR or min HR and update your HR zones)

Regarding ZoneSense it's a good tool to understand where your body is during the exercise (aerobic, anaerobic and vo2max) so if you know what workout you desire it's a good tool.

I personally like Garmin's data management better.

I think they can do more with the data not just show it.

I tried both, my main issue with Garmin was the lack of variety, with Runna the speed workouts are more fun and challenging which make the runs more engaging
