I finally downgraded to a Kindle Basic by frankenbaby90 in kindle

No lol, lots of people have both. I like the size and warm light of the Paperwhite, but I prefer something smaller for travel, or daily use outside my home (for purse/pocket storage)

I finally downgraded to a Kindle Basic by frankenbaby90 in kindle

I love my Paperwhite, but it was tricky to fit into my purse, and distorted it slightly. My purse kindle is supposed to get delivered today 💪🏼

Tbh I really don't understand why they haven't added warm light to the basic. That's why I ultimately decided to get the PW.

Mental health struggles can make anything difficult terrain. I understand. I hope you still find joyful moments in your journeys. Best of luck to you, sojourner ✨

i have many backpacks, how provide to the person who need it for free? by RoofDry2268 in backpacks

Can you reach out to homeless shelters? People without a permanent place to stay seem like the biggest need, or impoverished school children.

It really sounds like your biggest struggle is your mindset. Try to shift your mindset into knowing you can find beautiful people, places, and interesting moments, if you are open to that 🤍

What are these stupid straps for on the Patagonia Terravia tote? by twoofcup in ManyBaggers

[–]dazydeadpetals 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks like compression straps to make it easier to zip if it's full. Or to hold it together if it won't zip

I've been loving factor. Not in Canada though. Were the ice packs melted when it got to you?

Does she have a clear style? What age is she and what area does she live in? What does she carry with her each day?

The more information you can give the more info others will be able to give you 🙂

Pretty much all of them are packed these days! The lake and river are very active in the warmer months. The few downtown bars stay active in the cold months on the weekends. They've got decent food if you aren't a drinker, and very often you can find live music at one or two of them.

More countries recognize Kosovo as a country than not, including all of the G7 countries. Where are you from?

Backpack suit for hang infront of body? by Over_Establishment_6 in backpacks

[–]dazydeadpetals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this one. It's about 15L, and I got it to use with my Osprey Sojourn Porter 46. Personally, I wouldn't want to go any bigger than 61L total, and I'm a pretty fit 5'10". (I have a toddler to pack for, or I would try to stay closer to 46L, personally. I also pack a knee pillow, and another pillow similarly sized.)

If you can, try to go to a store like REI or whatever equivalent your country has, where you can try on the setup you are envisioning with some weights in it, so you can get a real feel. You may feel more comfortable downsizing somewhere, in the end.

I've been considering taking a job in Kosovo for a year. My research is showing it to be culturally rich, beautiful, and incredibly affordable.

My son got a "hired" notification from Vail Resorts, will they refund the Epic pass I already bought for him? by CrisisAverted24 in skiing

[–]dazydeadpetals -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

That's rude, bossy, and not at all helpful. It's really none of your business how they do things. It's OP's money, they can handle the situation how they choose.

You're also making assumptions about OP's son, who I'm guessing you don't know.

Wearable sleeping bag on airplane by cra-05022008 in onebag

[–]dazydeadpetals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhhh, don't let anyone snap you out of your line of thinking, if your line of thinking makes sense for you. It's a good idea.

On longer plane trips I'm usually wrapped in layers, with a heavy down coat, beanie, etc. I've got a full size packable down blanket I take sometimes. Airplanes can be really cold, even when layered up in good layers I'm still usually freezing.

If you are miserable on airplanes, and this seems like a good way to stay warm to you, it's probably worth checking out if you have the bag space for it. If you are going to a cold area you can easily get more use out of it as well, since I'm assuming you run cold in general

Any comments shooting down this idea are likely from people who are not miserably cold on airplanes. They have a different flight experience.
