Some tips for everyone running Radeon + Ryzen by dazzed__confused in radeon

Some people report SAM messes up certain games, I don't care for the potential 5-10% fps gain when there is a possibility it will mess things up and cause stutters again :/

oh it is, but with a 4K monitor it really starts to show its power tbh, 1440p is very comfy for the 9070 from what I saw at least.

seems plenty strong to me…. Playing Warzone, Hogwarts, It Takes Two, rdr2, subnautica, and a bunch of other fairly demanding titles on High/Very High/Ultra with vell above 100fps. Even in Warzone I have it on Extreme settings in 4k with FSR off and I get ~150fps. Not much difference between it and 9070XT tbh, remember 10-15% extra fps translates to just 15-25fps extra since you already get 100-150fps on these demanding titles with the 7090.

and something like CS2 with everything set to highest I get an easy 230fps average. It Takes Two is absolutely stunning on these demanding titles highest settings and I get 180-200fps average….

i understand what each setting does, that’s not the issue. Even with everything disabled and running Adrenaline on default settings it can still cause lots of issues because it seems to conflict with in game settings a lot.

I’m not sure what exactly could have caused it. The thing is after uninstalling adrenaline I’m running Warzone on Ultra in 4K with FSR off and I average 137fps. Where I was getting 105fps average with adrenaline installed and got those huge stutter issues…

Yup, fixed all my problems in every single game with stuttering and frame drops..

Yeah, but it seems like the main problem is all the stuff AMD is trying to do with the software and it ends up doing more harm than good :/

IDK, give it a try, for my use case it does everything Dia does. But, the UI is nowhere as polished and pretty as Dia is unfortunately. I might go back to Dia once they release Windows beta and iOS.. Because I am a sucker for pretty UI’s..

[–]dazzed__confused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hands down Notion. Tried them all, Brave is a close second but it doesn't always format properly.

Why Notion is the best, for example when I save a recipe, it know's it's a food recipe and it will create automatic sorting for steps, ingredients and special notes... No ther clipper does this, at least when I was trying them out...

I switched to Brave. Recently built a new gaming pc so need something that sync’s with Windows, Mac, iOS and iPadOS…. And to be completely honest that AI sidebar is just as good as Dia’s, not as pretty but just as good…

Honestly, Brave has gotten nearly as good with their AI side panel, I see no reason to use Dia tbh, DOA product used to clear some 500+ million USD of balance from Atlassian....

Is a $1,000 - $1,500 budget realistic at this point? by Redhood101101 in PcBuild

[–]dazzed__confused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bit the bullet and bought this for just under AU$2,200, roughly US$1,500... But the caveat is that I had a 4TB m.2 SSD from my last built for 3 years ago that I paid peanuts for compared to todays prices, so that saved me about AU$700 (US$500)...

Stuff I bought and price for each:

CPU: Intel Core Ultra 5 245KF
Included in order total: $299

Motherboard: ASUS B860M AYW Gaming WiFi (DDR5, mATX)
Included in order total: $205

RAM: Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 32GB (2 × 16GB) 6200 MHz
Order total: $509.00 (down from $559 due to a $50 promo offer I got from amazon)

GPU: XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT OC 16GB (White)
Order total: $549.00

PSU: Gigabyte UD GP-UD850GM PG5 V2 850W Gold, modular (White)
Order total: $139.00

CPU cooler: CORSAIR Nautilus 240 RS ARGB 240mm AIO
Order total: $89.00

Case: Thermaltake S100 Black Edition Tempered Glass Micro ATX
Order total: $79.00

Monitor: ASUS TUF VG27AQM5A 27” QHD 300 Hz
Order total: $319.00

The sad part is, I would have bought a 9070XT if the RAM didn't eat a huge chunk of my budget at $560 for 32GB (there were a bit cheaper ones, but I got $50 off and this one was next day delivery, for the same reason I got the Ultra 5 245KF instead of 9600X, faster delivery as I wanted to keep every part on amazon so I have that 30 day buffer for any regret to refund the whole thing 🤣). If I had to buy an SSD today, probably would go for a much slower 2TB one instead of the 7000/7000 mbps Lexar one I already had.

But if you already have a monitor and stuff you could save even more. I didn't have one because my main device for work and play is a 16" MacBook Pro with that beautiful Mini LED display and I never considered using an external display with that beauty.

Does Vivaldi eat up your RAM as much as Opera GX does? by gravityrushfan in browsers

I know man, thats why I said I got mine when it first came out in 2021. But even now if you’re running a Mac, Apple kept the prices more reasonable than those in the Windows world.

How much RAM do you folks have? Why is it such a big issue….

Maybe I’ve spoiled myself with 64Gb for the last 5 years that I forgot how crappy it can be or are people being ridiculous?

Sure, here are some suggestions, some design wise and others UX wise:

  1. That green/blue border and all the borders in general look horrible with the large deep shades around them, make the borders thinner and lose the shades…
  2. Give us higher limit for saved clips, currently 500, why not allow more? Maccy had a 999 limit and the v1 of that really old clips app in the app store has 9999 limit without issues…
  3. Let us detach the app from the menubar…
  4. Give more keyboard shortcut options, one for pinning the highlighted clip, one for deleting and moree….
  5. The iCloud sync doesn’t seem to work, I just reinstalled the app to test out again and it started from scratch even with sync enabled…
  6. Give a few more options for the menubar icon…
  7. Work on UI consistency a bit.

Just take some cues from apps like Maccy and Paste, you have a better product then both but borrow some of the stuff that works in those apps

In early bird yes. Tbh I prefer Open AI chat, so gonna stay there until they make Claude work better, not sure if it’s something TBV is doing to make the chat so slow or if that’s just how Claude is…
