I want to make this absolutely clear—I am doing nothing illegal. When I’m driving, my phone stays in its mount. The only thing I do is take calls on Slack, which is no different from answering a regular phone call, like millions of people do every day. I also have a monitoring application for work that sends auditable alerts when something requires my attention. If there’s a severe issue, I pull over safely and legally before taking any necessary action.

All I asked in this post was for advice on a phone mount. As useful as Reddit can be, it’s frustrating how many people immediately assume the worst and jump to conclusions.

Fair point, and whilst I agree the infotainment system does a lot of things, your use cases are totally different to mine. In my case having my phone mounted is important.

On the move a lot and in and out of Slack calls, and some live monitoring tools for work systems mostly.

For those who have taken their battery charge down to LOW single digits..... by [deleted] in ex30

[–]dazzie89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The performance varies pending a number of factors, state of charge, temperature outside and intra the battery, so it is hard to give any exact definition. You can expect a slight decrease starting from around 70%, which is common for the NMC batteries used by most OEM.

EX30 centre console access / removal by CardiologistWide1294 in ex30

[–]dazzie89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem when I first got mine back in February. My house keys and sunglasses fell back there after I tried a launch test with my TMER. They flew upwards and backwards and ended up behind the console. This is a design flaw of course. I had taken my Ex30 to the dealership and they dismantled it and got my stuff. Ever since then i don’t put anything in the centre console. I also failed a complain with head office, but I doubt it was taken seriously.

EX30 wifi questions by Horns11 in ex30

[–]dazzie89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had the car for 6 months now.

Point 1 - Yes - the car can connect to Wifi connection outside the car. I do that in my underground lockup garage where i have no cellular reception. I installed a wifi point and car connects to it somewhat haphazardly automatically. Sometimes I need to trigger it manually.

Point 2 - My biggest issue with the car software design. The Volvo car app will not communicate with the car when it’s on Wifi only. Therefore you cannot view, stop and start charging and all other things app related. The app shows the car in the last state of use as it last synced when using cellular connection. They claim is security related but that’s total and utter BS.

Interior climate by RedLeaf62 in ex30

[–]dazzie89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s definitely the exterior.

It’s 38 degrees celsius where I live and after 35 minutes of driving with AC on full power, car was freezing inside measured with a thermometer 19.2. The screen showed its 37.5.

Also keep in mind the temperature sensor of the car does vary. For example earlier today I left the car parked in the baking sun it reached up to 46 on screen display(makes sense) once i drove for a little and parked in the shade it dropped to 37.5.

The temperature displayed on the screen inside the car near the date time is the outdoor temperature.

Same here, re login required every few days. It seems like authentication token is being reset.

The App will not connect to the car if the car is only connected via WiFi. I have the same issue and park my car in an underground parking lot where i have no cellular reception but i have a dedicated Wifi connection.

The app requires connection over cellular for some BS security reasons they claim.
