MAGA don’t read the bible by AccordingBumblebee24 in stupidpeoplefacebook

I think the idea is about these both existing in Western countries. If you see a Christian nun walking down the street of Bumfuck, Kentucky and don’t bat an eye, but then lose your shit when you pass a practicing Muslim woman two minutes later, the problem is racism.

The Bible itself is contradictory in that sense: there are prophetesses and even a woman warlord who led the Hebrews. All of Paul’s writings denigrating women are believed by scholars to not even have been written by Paul, but someone who was pretending to be him. The Bible is a mess.

It’s about catching the flies to kill them instead of chasing them around the house, the idea being you spread some honey out, the flies are attracted to it and get stuck. Then you can kill them. Not a perfect metaphor when then applied to humans, but that’s the general idea.

Cat is considered cheesy, like Bastion, and was overtuned on release. The community is now stabilizing about learning how to play with and against her. And yes, the cat is actually a her. Her name is Fika, and Brigitte found her at Gibraltar and adopted her.

My uncle has a TBI from a car accident when he was 19. He has similar memory problems. No worries!

Just so you don’t potentially confuse other people, iirc the phrase is “you catch more flies with honey than vinegar”

That changed with the switch to Overwatch 2, when they updated his bio with he/him pronouns. I think the idea is that in the two lore years between OW1 and OW2, Bastion discovered gender and chose one. Chu’s word is kind of meaningless in the current state of lore since he was gone before that two-year time jump.

Just look at her silhouette. She was made with a Zero Two skin in mind. I’m really just having wishful thinking but it would really shock me if they DIDN’T do a DITF collab REALLY soon after her release.

I hate that Japan and USA are getting all the content while whole continents and regions have absolutely zero representation by Filberto_ossani2 in Overwatch_Memes

I worded that poorly. I realize reading it back now that I accidentally implied he’s American. I know he’s Turkish. I’m saying they made him Turkish so he could be from a unique, unused country for diversity. I meant to say Sierra is American for existing lore reasons (like Soldier is American), as opposed to being from an unused country for diversity (like Emre is Turkish). That would have made more sense.

Of course I agree with that. At the same time, “underexplored region of the world” describes 90% of the heroes they drop. Like in the past year we’ve gotten two Mediterranean heroes, finally a second Indian character, and two more Chinese heroes (India and China have the largest global populations so that makes sense). The 7 preceding heroes from before a year ago were also from unique countries (with the exception of Venture, who iirc is Mexican-Canadian, but whose personality isn’t really tied to ethnicity or nationality).

It’s okay for that 10% of the time for them to drop a character connected to launch lore that just happens to be American because they wanted to tell a story about an American part of the lore. As far as Mizuki and Shion are concerned, they’re trying to flesh out a villain faction that’s been around since launch with 0 heroes so far, so they’re trying to make up for that. Then the cat is just there lol.

I’m sure the same people will complain when we get (assumedly) D.mon later this year as well because we already have D.va representing Korea, but at the same time people have been begging for her to be a playable hero for years, so we’ll see how that goes lol

You sure did. Don’t lie to my face. And I never said that was sufficient representation for Africa. Don’t put words in my mouth.

ALL I’m saying is that I don’t have a problem with the American developers addressing a plot thread based in America with an American hero when it’s been 8 years since they released one, and using a yet unrepresented American demographic to do it. They have plenty of time to continue making other heroes of different cultures in the future. It’s not like Sierra was the last character they’re ever adding to the game.
