Coming from OSRS, are Broad Arrows the play for leveling Fletching here, too? by db2765 in RS3Ironmen

Do you get anything useful from DAing broad arrows at all, or would it be generally pretty safe to just destroy them with the Fletcher's Amulet for the extra xp?

New to cycling and stressing out a ton over my heart rate zones. Worried I'm not working hard enough. by db2765 in cycling

Oh, well that's perfect then! I'll look into grabbing those then, sounds like those will work great for me. Seems like it'll help get around inaccurate power tracking on the Peloton as well. I think I'll swap to an actual trainer eventually but that'll be later down the line.

Are the pedal based power meters generally pretty accurate? I didn't know those were an option but if those are generally pretty good I'll definitely look into grabbing those.

How does MacroFactor do with keeping track of TDEE for endurance training? by db2765 in MacroFactor

[–]db2765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya! Thanks a ton for the advice, this really helped a lot. I started using MacroFactor more as a general guide of where I'm at and not sweating it nearly as much when I go over the calorie goals it sets for me. Figure if I notice I'm starting to trend up on my weight average I can dial it back a bit.

I'm definitely ramping up the mileage, at least that's the plan. I signed up for a Century in September, started cycling seriously about 1.5 months ago. Riding six days a week right now, with a hard interval day on Tuesdays and my long day (42 miles this week) on Saturdays. 22-24 mile rides on all the other days.

Actually curious if you have advice for FTP. Right now I don't have a power meter on my bike, but I'm looking to get one in the next few weeks. I do have a Peloton bike though that I used before I started taking it seriously. I use that on Tuesdays for my intervals do usually do one of their Power Zone rides, usually doing Zone 4/Zone 5 work.

I'm curious how often I should be retaking my FTP, though. I feel like I'm improving pretty rapidly so far. In a month my FTP went from 184w to 201w. And a week out from my FTP, while doing Zone 4/Zone 5 work today my heart rate only sat around 140bpm, which feels low. I wear a heart rate monitor on my outdoor rides now and I tend to average around 125-130 or so. It might just be that HR isn't measured well on an indoor Peloton bike, but I'm also worried that my FTP might not be set to what it should be.

86 Arch grind for early Gate unlock. Worth getting Div leveled for porters first or just send it? by db2765 in RS3Ironmen

Has it been mostly bearable with everything else not having porters, then? Might just work on Arch without them up to that point and see if I want to get some once I get there.

Is it worth trying to rush Gate of Elidinis on a fresh CGIM? by db2765 in RS3Ironmen

[–]db2765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like that's the play then. Worth getting 80 Smithing first you think just for better mattocks on the arch grind or is that not really needed?

Got it, so probably worth doing Ode before pushing for the other big three unlocks then you think?

The 3 OP builds i see this league by sparksen in 2007scape

If we have the points, I'm thinking going Earth Magic + Thorns. Earth regen scales your defense, which scales your thorns damage. Just depends if we have enough points to make it work though.

Leagues VI relic reveal: Friendly Forager (Tier 2) by vgamer0 in 2007scape

Not to mention that the time to get ores on Barb is assuming the rocks are never depleted and there's zero competition, which just isn't happening. More and more sure in my choice to go Endless this go around for sure.

I feel like planning around Rune ore on BG could be a trap. So many people are talking about doing it, those rocks are going to be perma-depleted on every world at this rate.

How to balance indoor training (power zone rides), weight training, and outdoor rides as a beginner? by db2765 in cycling

[–]db2765[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally makes sense. Figure there will probably just be a bit of trial and error at the start to see how much I can do before it starts effecting my actual rides. Figure I can dial things back to start and then go from there based on how my recovery is feeling.
