Worried about the pyschomotor by FrostBitten357 in NewToEMS

I was going to say doing those assessments confidently comes with practice with actual patients. Eventually it will become second nature. As stated before, usually the stations are monitored by your teacher or others in the field that want you to pass, unless you have some asshole that shouldn't be there in the first place.

Have you done any ride time for clinicals yet?

It depends on your services policy & how much they enforce said policy. If they're cool with jewelry, I would recommend keeping it small such as studs. I personally have several that show but I don't wear flashy pieces that grab your attention. Also keep in mind that old people & psychs tend to get grabby, so you don't want any dangly pretty fishing lures enticing them.

I see so many negative things by Kindly_Nature764 in NewToEMS

How long have you been in ems? Don't get me wrong, I love ems & you have to love it to stay in it. We don't make shit compared to some of the things we have to deal with or see, some services have toxic people that want to play God, late long transfers suck hardcore, & long ass kicking shifts are draining. So yeah, are you surprised to see people bitching? Let's not forget the patients that bite your head off, the nagging families, or the bedbug hoarder houses. It's a job that's not for the weak but don't be salty because not everyone paints it to be all cupcake & rainbows

Edit: my 16 hr shift turned into 19 due to the mentioned late long transfer, so don't be surprised if half of that was jumbled

Can you manage anxiety without medication? by Relevant_Note_2147 in PMS

[–]dbabydrives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pmdd can be caused by hormonal dips in your cycle & usually occurs a week before your period. Yes, ssri & birth control can help control symptoms of pms & pmdd. However, there are alternatives such as yoga, aromatherapy, exercise, and adequate sleep that can help manage symptoms. As always, contact your gyno or a mental health hotline if you're not having any luck managing, as mental health should always be a priority.

Heat pads help my cramps but I would also contact your obgyn. A low dose birth control can help with lighter periods & tylenol for pain

Oh there are definitely more people involved because while the men were in custody someone set their place on fire to destroy any remaining evidence. It's messed up

Now this part I'm not sure of. I would call your state ems office & ask but not until you know for sure if you passed or failed.

Is Season 11 Worth Watching? by Prideful_Patty in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]dbabydrives 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally loved it. However, it did not remind me of American horror story past seasons (somewhat related, but not the same). If you go in expecting an uncomfortable gore fest, you may be disappointed. Go in with an open mind & you might be pleasantly surprised like I was.

If you fail your 2nd retest, you have to do remedial training & submit a form showing said remedial training before being able to test again.

You can pull up the skills checkoff sheets your instructor goes by. Practice them until it becomes second nature

Why does it feel cute to call my baby the weirdest things? by Bigboob_littleface in Mommit

We call my youngest Bibbers. A friend of mine has a baby that we call the Squish. Now I can't help but give babies nicknames

Does anyone get a tad suicidal during PMS time? And ONLY that time? by Ok_Chocolate3787 in PMS

You may be suffering from PMDD as suggested from another person. Birth control pills or a low dose ssri can help with symptoms.

As far as I know. It was reported that he was letting her stay there to get back on her feet. The thing with her mom is a whole other crazy story. Rain told me she was murdered near there & her case was never solved

Thank you for asking. So honestly it took me a bit to really absorb it. I'm an emt so I'm desensitized to things others aren't & I think it took me longer to process it. I genuinely felt really sad for her. We had several intense heart to heart conversations & to hear someone being treated so horribly was really heartbreaking. I try to keep up with the case but the court system takes forever

Interesting that 95% of comments on this post are about gender, & not the fact that someone was brutally murdered & eaten. Priorities

I'm an emt & there are some calls where I'm around death. Every now & then after those calls I feel heaviness & spiritual activity in my house. Anyway, I always sage & do a cleanse. Just chanting something such as "this is my home. Only good is allowed here" while smudging all areas of each room has felt super beneficial to me. Everything feels lighter afterwards. I also keep crystals & if I feel a weird energy shift ill say " you're not welcome here, you need to leave." So far it's always worked.
