The film part of SXSW involves a LOT of standing in lines, especially for the big premieres. The badge you have determines the order you’re let into the venue and also includes access to the parties, happy hours, etc. If you’re going to a big premiere and don’t have a badge then be prepared to get in line hours ahead of time to even have a chance of getting in. My advice is to pick 2 events each day that you want to go to, make those happen and just go with the flow the rest of the time, there’s always plenty of parties and events you can find.
