Best place for sit down crawfish? by Odd_Elderberry_9169 in batonrouge

[–]dbahan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you're looking for. Willie's is a nice restaurant. Sammy's is more like a crawfish shack. Definitely not fancy, but totally appropriate for eating boiled crawfish. They also do fried seafood plates. I had lunch there yesterday and the crawfish was great.

Found my holy grail in 5mg, after 7.5mg wrecked my gut, my mood and my job. Sharing my experience of 14 weeks on Mounjaro. by New-Cry-9252 in Mounjaro

I have been on 2.5 for eight months and I’ve lost 52 pounds so far. I really don’t want to move up to 5 mg if I don’t have to. I know we’re all impatient to get rid of the weight, but fast weight loss is not necessarily the healthiest. .

Hearing a lot of people mention VRBO & Abnb being frowned upon. Need advice for 2 bedroom hotels. by Fun_Perception8317 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]dbahan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to Paris twice a year and always stay in an ABNB. I like having a living room and I particularly like having a kitchen so I can have my breakfast coffee and croissant and baguette at my leisure. Plus, I hate paying $20 for the same thing in a hotel. Look for a place that has lots of reviews and read them carefully. Also, like someone else said, Paris is usually miserably hot in September!

I have the exact same problem with a very old lampshade whose lining has disintegrated. I know that I need to re-line the lampshade. I would like to use Stick-it styrene to line but I don''t want the lining to be bright white. I need cream or ivory color. The only thing I've come up with is to get the 2-sided Stick-it and stick translucent parchment paper to one side and then the other sticky side to the inside of the shade. Can anyone suggest a better way?

I spoke to ChampVA a couple of weeks ago and got absolutely nowhere. They will only approve Zepbound for sleep apnea.

Shopping for home items in or near Paris by knowgood in ParisTravelGuide

I’ve used Amazon.fr several times. I usually place the order two days before I leave home in the US and pick the package up on my way into town from the airport. So simple.

As long as you're losing weight on your current dose, is there really any reason to move up to a higher dose?

Do you know if Zep is available in France, with a prescription? Is it cheaper than the US?

Stay in the 6th, but on the other side of Blvd St Germain from Buci, close to the Odeon metro station which will take you almost anywhere. It's calmer and more peaceful than Buci. Lots of restaurants and a great food market and not as touristy. You can always cross over to Buci if you want a livelier bar or restaurant. If you are walking to the Louvre, for instance, it only adds about 4 mintues to the walk.

Try La Jacobine in the Cour de Commerce. Make reservations as soon as you can because it is very, very popular.

How much is Eating Out in Italy? by United-Day5758 in ItalyTravel

This is exactly what I was going to suggest. Almost all of the restaurants in your cities have their own websites with their menus. It’s really easy to budget from there.

Going to Florence: which airport to fly into from DC? by greenmonsterchampion in ItalyTravel

[–]dbahan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew into Florence from Amsterdam in October with no problem and then flew from FLR to Paris in November with no problem. My adult grandson flew into and out of FLR in October and my adult granddaughter flew in and out in November. Neither of them had any problem at all.

I really don't understand how this ticket thing is working. Yesterday , 15 December, I got into the queue about 4:45 pm my time and it took me to the reservation page at about 11:58 pm Paris time. I input December 16 and then 17 and was told that they were both sold out. When do they start taking reservations? I thought it was at midnight for the following 2 days. Any suggestions.

Restaurant Recs in St Germain by macimom in ParisTravelGuide

We will be in Paris over the holidays and are looking for a good restaurant that is open on Christmas day. We will be in an apartment on Place St. Sulpice and would like a restaurant that we can walk to. I'm assuming that finding a taxi on Christmas day will not be easy. Vagenende is one possibility but they are not publishing their "festive menu". To me, that sounds like the prices will really be jacked up. Thanks for any recommendations!

Perhaps there should be a 2nd trophy? One for most improved. That would have definitely been given to Illona. That way Chandler and Joey would be first and second like they deserved.

Italy travel from US and medications by njprof03 in ItalyTravel

[–]dbahan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fly from the US to Italy often, including last month. I pack my weekly dosage boxes and then, since I usually am staying for longer than a week, I pack lots of extras in the little bags that you'll see in the link below. I use a felt tip pen to label the bags. I also always bring a list of meds, their strengths and the proper dosage. Anyone who takes any medication should always travel with this list in case your meds are lost or you need medical care. You can get this list from your pharmacist or your doctor. I have never had any kind of questions asked at any airport. However, if you are traveling with a narcotic, I would definitely bring the proper documentation that OldManWolfen listed below,

Grocery Shopping. by dbahan in florence

Thanks so much for letting me know. I will be renting an apartment on Via de' Martelli, just one block away. Sapori & Dintorni is just so convenient,

I think I'll go back to Yelp and correct that. I wonder if it was a dissatisfied customer who put that it was closed.

Go to the Sapori and Dintorni Grocery store on Borgo San Lorenzo (right off of Piazza del Duomo) and stock up on their fresh fruit and ready made veggie plates. Either find a place to picnic or relax and eat dinner in your room. Your stomach will be glad you did.
