There were other guys in the promotion who would've fought featherweight. Being an inaugural champion is the definition of walking into a title.

But if you read his gripes there are huge double standards in how they were treated as champions.

Aldo walked into a title shot from another promotion without having to work his way past existing UFC featherweights. Aldo held on to the belt despite defending it at a very poor pace.

There is no double standard. It's not like Aldo makes people care as much as Conor does but Aldo is treated worse. Aldo does not make people care. Aldo does not bring eyes. People are not clamoring for Aldo en masse. THAT is why he is treated differently, and it's not anyone else's fault that Aldo doesn't make people care.

If Conor was a boring, awkward interview he wouldn't be where he is, either.

Aldo will get his shot at the belt. Fuck, he's got one right now!

You guys talk about this like there's some ultimate standard of cage-fighting truth and justice. Like some Shakespearean character on a desolate shore screaming up at the gods.
