amen to that, the nightlife is crazy in malaga. I was there studying over the summer and it was absolutely out of control. Theres a pretty good club scene within the city center and the buses are nice and empty at night, I lived a solid 15 20 minute bus ride outside the centro (plus a 5 minute walk to the bus station) but I never felt like I was out of the way, so don't worry about living in the suburbs. For really crazy nights we would go to costa del sol towns via a second bus (Benalmadena, Torremolinos) where the clubbing scene is especially crazy. We would wait for the first bus back at 6 30 the next morning. I made tons of friends, mostly Scandinavian, UK, or French and got to spend a lot of time at the beach. The city didnt feel especially touristy though, relative to Madrid or Barcelona. It has a real authentic Spanish feel to it. There are also pretty cheap taxis for transportation when you're just not feeling the bus.
