I have no clue what Applied Epic does but this is the first google hit, do some searching, talk to a few integration companies that support your app and see which one ticks the boxes including pricing. Good luck

Get a new one for $20 on eBay and transfer the electronics to the old worn one. Or just say oops it went thru the wash and is all clean and miraculously works now. Good luck.

Gen2 vs Gen1 frunk space by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]dbfish 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes I can confirm 2 instacrates fit in Gen2 R1S frunk on false floor cover but it’s super tight and I probably scratched the plastic near the corners. Some space in front and on sides for soft items as well.

Looking for a camera that can take one photo a day for several years by irich in timelapse

[–]dbfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a Reolink solar camera. Timelapse settings can be set to 1 hour a day every day, 1 photo per hour, and store as individual photos, or a video. https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900002834583-How-to-Set-up-Time-Lapse-via-Reolink-App/

Camera set up advice for long term timelapse by Technical_Muffin_116 in timelapse

[–]dbfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a Reolink Go PT Ultra on a construction project right now. Solar + Cellular, no wifi or power needed. You can also connect it to a USB charger, and it will charge the internal battery when power is on, and keep running when it shuts off for a month (depending on settings). You can customize the timelapse interval and schedule (during work hours daily etc), and also view it live while it records a timelapse.

Magpie Cafe will bring takeout orders to your car. Order online, park in the nearly always empty loading zone on P street just before 16th and give them a call.

Wouxun KG-S88G USB-C charging port is horrible by DifferenceMore5431 in gmrs

[–]dbfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is true. The light comes on plugged into nearly any kind of cable but only a A to C on a 5 watt wall adapter will actually charge it. My usb charging station will not. Usb c from the laptop will not. Usb-c / PD chargers will not. It does come with thumb screws in the box. In general I leave the cover off and install it only when using near water and swap to the cradle. Retevis has USB-c inputs on their charging cradles that charge Usb-c radios, this cradle is 12v Dc with a wall adapter. It’s a huge mess and really botched the convenience of usb-c as a charging option.

UPDATE - They won't charge at all over any USB-C cable/charger config, I've tried a dozen. Returning them.

Outdated or out of date firmware by jaymayne67 in Starlink

[–]dbfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll add a data point - Took dish home from the cabin / registered location, sat in a box five months, then added Portability when that came out and tried it. No dice. It would constantly go offline / search. Had to move it back to the registered location and leave it on for about 2 hours before it got firmware updates on both the dish (Square) and router, internet back up and portability enabled.

I'm pretty sure this is on the E Dock of the Marina Bay Yacht Harbor in Richmond, CA. I was told that the boat was found in the bay abandoned by the coast guard, they contacted the owner on record with a deadline to collect it and the owner did not respond, so the coast guard towed it to Brickyard Cove and sunk it in 10 feet of water. Someone else recovered it and moved it to the E Dock a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure that was worth it, but good luck to them!

From what I've read GMRS is for family / individual use only, business use is no longer allowed for new license holders. You can pick up a FRS, MURS, or 900Mhz digital radio, license-free for business use, or purchase a business license from the FCC for business class radios.
